I googled it. I don’t think it was shown here. I think the Muppets were more international but I get what you say. It kinda looks like not just the Eric of the title but also like the style of the other muppets in the fictional show.

That show was shown here, but we have a lot of Canadian shows here because of proximity. And, I agree with you.

To me, these „spoilers“ came as no surprise. I have always thought of his character like this. And in this one photo from a couple of days ago I saw his head full of curls in this Eric costume from the back, crossing the street.
I can only imagine him „modulating“ his voice to bring it to life!
Looking really forward now!

Yes, I also saw the hair in the Jersey City photo! It’s not a surprise. Also, I think it’s just Vincent trying to put Eric on TV. He has a microphone in one of the photos and there are extras acclaiming him (the scene is also described by the DM). That’s part of the summary so it shouldn’t be considered a spoiler but I saw a few people not happy with the photos. They are mainly young fans who grown up with Marvel movies so they think it’s important not to read spoilers before watching something. It’s about how they tell the story not about the “surprises”, tho.!
I still can imagine he doing not just Eric voice but also other puppets. He is good doing voices so why he wouldn’t? And we know he like to do that kind of stuff and loves the opportunity of playing more than one character in the same production!
About the photos, I mentioned it above but again, you can look his intense performance just there. He looks so desperate and crazy and the bonkers situation, including the worn out and dirty puppet made the images even more pathetic. I saw one of the, I assume, crazies claiming it was all him looking tired and finished there and that they were ridiculing him making him wear that! C’mon! They call themselves fans but they don’t recognize how great he is like an actor and how profesional he is! It’s actually very exciting and promising. It seems it’s an interesting and, why no, daring scene. It could ending being very silly but it already looks tragic thanks to his expressions.

I’m surprised I haven’t run across the UWU crowd online who think he’s really hot & tired & too exhausted to continue, ready to pass out at any minute and someone (preferably them) needs to step in and take care of the poor baby! Someone to make him sit down and hydrate and have those big bad meanie crew people to pay attention to his needs! Like he isn’t a grown man who can and has clearly put his foot down on occasion and can take care of himself perfectly well, lol.

Those remind me of the photos from that old movie BC did in the diving suit and helmet. A crew member or director deacribed later that they filmed some pickup scenes with an extra in the suit from afar, only to have the other actor come out of the costume sweating and swearing in the heat after a few minutes, while BC had worn it uncomplainingly for much longer througo%ut the extent of the shoot.

I’m pretty sure that Benedict is assigned a variety of assistants to see to his hydration needs during filming! We’ve already seen the umbrella guy going over to shade him from the sun, so there are likely others waiting on the side, ready to make him more comfortable.

That's the first thing I thought of too! 
I found a couple of old posts about it on tumblr ... a blog I used to follow. The pictures give an idea of how heavy and hot that olde timey diving suit was
Nice comments about BC from the director/crew, too, the story you mentioned above, plus him being prepared and smart at first the audition.
