Thanks to you, roverpup, Hannah Lee for the condolences. It has been a shitty year (this is the second dog I have lost - the first one was just old age). And, I am sorry if I hurt anyone with my disbelief.

And, I am sorry if I hurt anyone with my disbelief. Very sorry to hear about your pets. It really hurts when they go as I know from experience. But take comfort in the fact that I’m sure you gave them both a very good life. As for your disbelief - well I’m in the same corner on that so you’re not alone. 😂

I like this comment,
I remember he said that he has a lot of respect for restaurant crews because he worked as a waiter. It’s very rarely mentioned probably because the cliche is that he is so super posh that people, especially British ones, probably are sure that he got work as an actor immediately after he wished to be one. I remember the James McAvoy fan who used to visit BC’s IMDb message board to troll said McAvoy had it very difficult in comparison with BC because the poor working class thing had to work as baker to pay his career. I told her that yes, maybe it’s more difficult for working class British actors but that McAvoy was a very bad example because he was leading big Hollywood films at his 20s (Someone remember action film Salt with him and Angelina Jolie?). Meanwhile “posh” BC didn’t make it big until much later in his mid 30s and he actually worked as waiter and shop clerk so the “sacrifice” doing “peasant” work was probably similar. But no, apparently being a baker is a much more painful job! Lol

MacAvoy had the lead in Atonement, too, while Ben got stuck (lol), with the pedophile role.

He was the biggest star then and he is wonderful and cute but, obviously, I prefer BC and I think he is also more charismatic.
That fan was crazy but she was repeating the narrative that a "posh" actor has it ALWAYS easier than a working class one and again, in general, it could be true but the problem with defining particular cases with "narratives" is that they not ALWAYS work. McAvoy was a Hollywood star in his late twenties and a professional actor years before. He was actually very lucky and very privileged in that regard.

Well, they do start early in the morning! My stepmom always talks about how hard it was, when she had a job years ago making doughnuts.

That was the reason she gave! But I normally got up very early so I can’t see a problem with doing it slightly earlier! My family is full of early birds and I used to hate it but now I’m one of them! Lol It probably would had worked better with me to talk about the hot kitchen during summer because I live in a place with 40º C days! But in Scotland a hot kitchen should be nice!
By the way, my late cousin was a baker and he loved it! He had a lot of trades before it but he found his calling doing cakes. And that’s the difference I can see between those two jobs. Both are dignified and I'm sure both have their lows and highs but I can see people loving to work as a baker meanwhile working as a waiter is usually seen as a transitional job. But, of course, it depends of the individual.
Obviously, the point of the girl was that McAvoy was working class and because that deserving of more praise than posh boy BC, who never worked in his life. He even had to work as a baker to pay his career! When I said that BC actually also worked to pay his career as waiter and shop clerk during Christmases, then the point changed to show how being a baker was a more difficult, hard and suffering job than being a waiter! I thought it was hysterical but it doesn’t mean I don’t think being a baker is an easy job.
