You must have grinned for 3 years straight at the blue chambray shirt. Or before that, the bridge tee. Or the real old-timers here might remember the black hoodie. I know too much about this total stranger's wardrobe. Turn around, Sophie! Bump or no bump?

I know too much about this total stranger's wardrobe. Turn around, Sophie! Bump or no bump? The blue chambray still gets the odd outing. The bridge T Shirt must finally have fallen to bits and I don’t remember the black hoodie. I should though cos I am an “old timer.”

Well the area we live in is jokingly referred to as the “Banana Belt” because it has reasonably moderate temperatures compared to the north and we just went through a spell in early February where the nighttime lows were close to -20º C. The daytime highs hovered around the -10ºC mark. That is really cold! It actually gets too cold to snow. But I understand everything is relative. In parts of Quebec they don’t have indoor recesses for the primary school children until the daytime temps drop below -15ºC where here in SW Ontario we pull the kids from the yard at -10ºC daytime temperatures. :-)) My goodness, you breed them tough in Canada! Kids here would be rushed indoors for recess if it even threatened to reach 0 C.

“Beast from the East” - kind of like our “Polar Vortex”, I guess. We call it Polar Vortex in Finland too. It's cold AF at the moment. Like -20c in the whole country, and it's been below zero for at least two weeks now! I don't remember a winter this cold since I was a teenager. Unfortunately it hasn't been snowing, there was a ton of slush when the temps first dropped below freezing and they froze into a lumpy ice field so that's what we've been having. :/ But I understand everything is relative. In parts of Quebec they don’t have indoor recesses for the primary school children until the daytime temps drop below -15ºC where here in SW Ontario we pull the kids from the yard at -10ºC daytime temperatures. My goodness, you breed them tough in Canada! Kids here would be rushed indoors for recess if it even threatened to reach 0 C. In addition to everything being relative, temperatures aren't really good for evaluating what it actually feels like. I mean -20 and dry feels better than -5 and wet, that's why if you'd have -20 in Ireland you'd die whereas -20 in Finland is ok. The coldest I've felt was about -40 in Lapland, and even that was bearable. We went snowboarding and skiing and did all kinds of outdoors activities, although obviously you need to be covered from head-to-toe (and R.I.P our car battery which did not survive the trip.) We only halt outdoors recess in schools here if the temp drops below -30, and since that hasn't happened in my city in my life-time I've never experienced indoors recess.

Here, when it drops to -20 F, the college kids put on a coat. They’re still wearing shorts and sorrels, tho. 😂

Ahhh. Yes. I do remeber it now. His dress sense has improved the more successful he’s become. I guess having a stylist available helps. But, left to his own devices, I suspect BC is one of those men who reach for the first shirt, sweater and pair of jeans/trousers to hand in the morning rather than putting together “an outfit.”. It’s one of the reasons I never believed any suggestion that he was gay. No self respecting gay man would be seen dead in the “ensembles” BC sported back in the day. Or even now when he’s off duty.😀

IGS - re temperature not telling the whole weather story. You’re right. It’s 4C today with wind and hailstones and it feels way colder than I remember -20 being when I was in Poland in January for work a few years ago. So good to know we’re not just wimps! 😀

The man does like to hang onto his clothes. 😍
My hubby has to be the all time champ in that regard though - when I met him he in his early twenties he was still wearing galoshes with his name and address printed in them from elementary school! They still fit and were in good shape so he didn’t see any reason to not wear them.
He still has a beach towel from when he was 10 or eleven (and he is 65 now). Of course it looks like one of Napoleon’s battle flags!!! But he won’t throw it away.
So I understand someone like this.
:-))
