I'd like to see BC eating a mushroom!
Actually I'd like to see him eating ANYTHING!!
Him all sweaty and burly, with a lot of chin scruff... sigh! 🤣🥰

Not even the Inuit and native peoples hunt animals for genuine survival nowadays. I don't see anything wrong with hunting an animal if you eat it (regardless of why you are doing it). And this type of show is certainly "entertainment", but so are cooking shows. They eat animals all the time for our viewing pleasure. Didn't BC already appear on a cooking show? So whether food is obtained through hunting or farming or you just pick it up at the shops, it's all part of the natural food cycle to me. At least when you procure it yourself you know it isn't injected with chemicals/plastic or sugars. Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree on that RP. BC appeared on a cooking show chopping tomatoes. Hardly the same as killing an animal on TV for entertainment. Anyway we all have our different principles. I’m vegetarian and abhor hunting - especially when it’s done for fun and not need. So if BC were ever to either support or take part in hunting I could no longer be a fan. But I appreciate not everyone will share my views. So to each their own.

I agree to each his own. We all have our own perspectives.
I come from a very different environment, like I said and something like this show intrigues me.
I was trying to imagine what my personal "line" would that he would have to cross in order to get me to cross him off my "interest list" and other illegal things (which are always a no-no for me!) I guess it would be if he appeared on a "born again Christian evangelical" show.
It would be so far away from my personal values that I just couldn't look at him ever the same. It's just an anathema to me. So in a weird way I understand your statement about how you feel - it's just that for me it would be an entirely different factor that would motivate me to take a similar action.

Ladies, we don’t even know that he’ll appear on the show yet! 😂 When and if that happens I’m sure we’ll find out if he does or doesn’t and then we can decide if we do or don’t like him anymore.
I would be sorry to lose anyone’s online friendship over whatever might happen but one has to stick to one’s principles so I understand. But let’s wait before fighting about it. (Are we fighting or am I overreacting? I have a panic in my tummy. 😭)

I think it was more of a discussion.🙂 I think we both respect each other's views.
And I completely agree that detailed reactions should be held off until the programme actually comes out.
But there's no real harm in discussing a sampling of our expectations.

If I had to kill the animals myself in order to eat meat, I’d likely become a vegetarian! So no, I have no interest in watching anyone else kill animals for food, especially as part of a tv show.
What’s the line for me, that would stop me from being a Benedict fan? I have a few: If he dropped his age-appropriate wife for girls half his age. Yuck! If he decided to only make loud, violent action movies from now on. If he started making sexist/racist/homophobic comments. Illegal behaviour. Bragging/joking about drug/alcohol use.
The problem I have with the born-again religious stuff is the superiority of it all. The friend with the super-religious family I had back in high school saw herself as much better person than anyone else. She also thought that any achievements she experienced were more “important” because they were blessed by God. She struggled to understand how non-religious people could be more successful than she was, because it wasn’t supposed to work that way! What kind of religion teaches you that if you study the bible every evening, you‘ll become rich? I remember her telling me that she was jealous of those folks on tv who talked about being “born again” - those folks who had been drug addicts or worse, but then found god and turned their lives around. So just being a good, kind person wasn’t enough. She wanted to be a bad person who found god and then became good. If Benedict started doing any of that, I’d be gone!

Oh, dear! Please don't panic - none of us need to do that! I read everyone's responses and am just going to remind everyone that BC's hands were shaking while castrating a bull. AND, he gets upset watching himself in TPotD beating a camera with a blanket because it looks like he is beating a horse. I can't imagine he would be willing to kill an animal for entertainment purposes. Who knows - if he is doing this challenge, maybe he wants to do it and show you don't have to kill an animal to do it. I know that would be my goal and I even eat meat! I mean, FFS, he and S seem to be making plans to have a sustainable and reclaimed farm. And, as mllemass pointed out, he is an environmentalist. It would be very out of character for him.

We’re not fighting QZ. Don’t panic!! We’re just exchanging views and I totally accept others have different views.

Oh that‘s just too cute! He is so great with kids! 😍
Is the blonde boy on the left Finn? From the restaurant owner’s Instagram it seems like she only has one child… She also only mentions the child he is holding in this very post.
(It‘s good the poster blurred the faces!)
