Well, I was doing pretty good adjusting to the jet lag and getting back into the swing of old routines, but just a day ago I developed a rather nasty chest infection so I have been laid low since then. I think it may be more than a cold - it isn't like any cold I have ever had.
Luckily Dan has been a prince and been taking care of me. I feel rather pressed though - we are expecting some guests on this coming Saturday (they are traveling quite a distance to come and see us and we haven't seen them in about a year) so I wanted to get my gardens looking their best. We were able to get a lot of the overgrowth that had popped up throughout May under control and we have managed to pull the weeds out that had taken over around the patio stones but since May is the month I plant my annuals this is a real "hurry up" job for sure this year!
Being sick right now has put a crimp in my plans for sure but I am confident our friends won't even notice all the little things that are bugging me at the moment - they are coming for the companionship, not to judge me on the condition of my garden. :-))
Dan and I are rather "old school" about pictures so I hope in the next couple of days I am feeling good enough to get all our many snaps developed and put into some albums (we don't "do" pictures on the computer for travels).
Please excuse the large type. My head is so achy that I am doing this on my TV screen (while bundled up under a large blanket) and doing it in regular font size was just too taxing for my eyes.
Got to go back to bed and defeat this "bug"! I am glad you enjoyed my travel journal. I enjoyed writing it too and it is a wonderful way to relive all the great times we had when I re-read it over the years.
