This wasn't about Benedict, but there was a question about Sherlock on Jeopardy just now! The category was Private Detectives, and the clue was something like "Episodes of this tv series include The Empty Hearse and The Lying Detective". Thank goodness the contestant got it right!
This article about the behind of scenes of Oscar’s parties is one year old but it made laugh:
The most famous of these is the Vanity Fair bash, mainly because it’s one of the few that allows journalists to attend so it gets the most media coverage. And fair play to Graydon Carter, the Vanity Fair party is quite an experience. I’ve seen celebrities doing drugs in there (just weed, calm down), celebrities making out with people other than their spouses and even, in what was perhaps my most surreal Oscars experience, Alex Ferguson looking more than a little flummoxed as he stood between Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone at the bar. The most amusing part is seeing who gets starstruck by whom; as soon as Benedict Cumberbatch arrived in 2015, for example, Judd Apatow and Jared Leto nearly came to blows in their rush to introduce themselves to him.
Oh my god! What was that about? That was pretty wild! I think Ben’s been gone too long. The fandom is getting...antsy.
I love The Good Place. It’s brilliant. There was an interesting article in the New York Times the other day talking about how refreshing it is to see people trying to be good. It’s like an antidote to the anti hero/people going bad thing that’s invaded tv recently. It’s just a 22 minute show, but it reminds people you have to work to be good. It doesn’t just happen, and the results are worth undertaking because being good helps yourself and other people. A nice message, these days.
