Besides, it wasn’t even method! There are lots of shots of him smiling, laughing, and goofing around on set. Even he said he was “off” on the weekends, to hang with Kirsten and Jesse. Real method is staying in character, all the time, even off set. 🙄

It’s just clickbaity garbage. I just ignored it! More: BC explicitly said he didn’t do method, he just stayed in character. He described method to base the performance in personal experiences something difficult for him because he said he barely shared similar experiences with his character. On the other hand, Jane Campion described her method as, well, the method! She said it’s based on Coppola’s work with his actors and she asked her own actors to do extreme things for the movie including Dunst getting really drunk for one scene! It wasn’t about narcissist actors but actually very tame actors obeying the filmmaker.
Also, something cool about BC as an actor. He has talked a lot about not marrying with a sole acting technique and Campion said he easily adapted to the challenges she asked him for. Also there is an old quote by Spielberg from War Horse times saying that British actors like him are like a sport car because they smoothly respond to whatever indication he gave them. BC himself said he adapts to his director or the project requests so IMHO that make him a more interesting and flexible actor than someone who said I would never do that! (with all respect to Milkenson who is a brilliant actor!)
But yeah, gossip sites dressed like film sites like Indiwire would always go for the easy headlines and ignore facts!

Stephen Colbert just mentioned Benedict during his monologue! He quoted an article about Benedict taking in Ukrainians, which led to a Doctor Strange joke about a multiverse of guest rooms (or something). I’m sure it will be posted on YouTube soon.
Here it is - it begins at around 8:10.

Benedict was just an answer on Jeopardy! The category was “The actor really saves the day” (or something), and each clue was a real-life thing that an actor did to rescue/save someone.
Benedict’s clue was something like: “This master of the mystic arts jumped out of a cab to stop a mugging in 2018.” The contestant got it right!

Holy crap! That happened 4 years ago? And if someone brings it up, he denies that it was a big deal and insists that he didn’t really do anything brave.
