I don’t like gory, supernatural stuff. It gives me the creeps so I don’t think I will watch it. I know the story though. So please will someone give me a spoiler on the “twist” ending.

The thing is with Sherlock they really did stay true to the characters - which is why the Johnlockers were so pissed off.
They didn’t make Sherlock and John end up as a gay couple to please the Johnlockers. Nor did they pander to the Sherlolly lobby by having him marry Molly, have kids and move to a semi detached in suburbia. Ok they give some crumbs to the Adllock shippers by suggesting there may have been something going on in the background between her and Sherlock. But the references were extremely vague. In the end no Doyle purists could really say they had misrepresented the essence of his work. The only people who were upset were those who wanted them to do exactly that.
Now those same people who were furious because Doyle’s version of the characters wasn’t changed seem to be criticising them because they DID change Dracula from Bram Stoker’s original.
There’s no pleasing some “fans.”

Just kidding! I wanted to say that I saw The Guardian gave it 5 stars out of 5 but I have seen a few mixed reactions out there. Agreed that a good number were by fan fiction looneys being unhappy that the producers didn't do what they imagined is best for the series or more exactly what is morally, politically and ethically correct and that casually coincides with what they found sexually stimulating. They never review what it's there but what it MUST be there but it's not because it only happens in their little minds. The Guardians reviewer (if you were referring to Lucy Mangan's review) seems to have seen only the first episode, at least she only mentions things happening on the first.
I think that episode was very good.
The things that some people liked and commented on twitter (I only read twitter reactions for the first episode, mllemass, and they were generally positive) were the things that for me weren't that funny for instance the phrase “Like many women my age I am trapped in a loveless marriage, maintaining appearances for the sake of a roof over my head” mentioned by Mangan but in some aspects it was funny, scary and generally enjoyable.
I don't agree that the critics come mostly from You can read the The Guardian's review comments to see that the main critic is the third episode.

Ahem. Sherlollians *never* lobbied to canonize their ship. That honor rested solely with those crazy Johnlockers, who exploded into raging piles of gibberish when it didn’t happen. Sherlollians stayed in our corner, smiling deeply and happily whenever there was a small, intimate scene between our two lovers, and refusing to rise to psycho-bait. 😁

Sorry! It wasn't my intention to generalize! I'm sure there are also mentally stable Johnlockers and other pairings (or whatever they are called) fans.

Yes, I’m sure there are some sane JL’ers. Not sure I’ve met any, tho. 😂
For me, the militant ones tainted the whole ship, which did have some merit, as ships go.
Heh heh. Taint. 😉

We didn’t need to get snippy. Because we Shelollians know that scene at the end with Molly coming into the Baker St flat was proof that she and Sherlock had got married and she had just dropped their two curly haired kids off at their violin lessons. I mean it was SO obvious.

I love that they re-used John’s coat from The Abominable Bride!

Why are people so nasty? Stephen King tweeted this very nice comment about Dracula, and because he has a lot of followers, there are a lot of responses. Many have said that they haven’t watched it, but now they will because he recommended it. But others decided to explain to him why he was wrong (basically - that the last episode was terrible). Maybe Stephen King and I saw something more in that third episode than everyone else did.
