I’ve been a fan since he had his first hits, in the 70s. It was never “cool’ to like him. In fact, a girl in one of my classes in high school turned out to be a fan, too, and we became friends because of it. It was our secret! We split the cost of the fan club membership and joined it together. I’ve seen him in concert several times over the years. I’ve always loved his music, and I probably always will. And he’s a good guy, too. That’s very important to me.
Which brings us to Benedict! You’ve listed the obvious reasons to like him - although you forgot his voice! Like BM, Benedict is such a good guy! I’d be very disappointed if I heard he had mistreated someone or behaved like a jerk in some way. I’m such a judgy person! It doesn’t take much for something to be a deal-breaker for me - like if Benedict got a tattoo, for example. It doesn’t make any sense, because I know lots of people with tattoos, but for some reason, I don’t want Benedict to have a tattoo. Ha!

So, just in case BC is reading along with us while we wax poetic about his birthday and are grateful to his mum for taking one for the team and pushing him out into the wider world (haha, queenzod , I am dying that you wrote that), can we say what we like about him, besides his luciousness (hair, lips, thighs, eyes, glutes, well, the entire package, including his mind)? I SHALL GO FIRST. Look, this sounds sappy and, well, goofy, but I feel like being a BC fan has made me a better person. I have read things I never would have read, met people, watched things I would have never watched, and just been better for it. I ponder the things he says in interviews and (sometimes) change how I behave or react because of them. While he isn't perfect (gasp - I know), I am also appreciative of that. So, Happy Birthday, BC! I’m dying that I wrote that, too, but I’m pretty sure (hope), it’ll get lost in the literally *millions* of birthday wishes he’s receiving today. Can you imagine being so beloved around the world that so many people stop to thank you for your existence, hope that you have a lovely day and are grateful you were born? I find it quite amazing, tbh. He’s a phenomenon. For me, in addition to the beauty that is his form (🤤), his kind and generous personality and his brilliant mind really impress me, as well as his deep, accepting understanding of human nature. To quote Dominic Cooke: “I think he’s actually/kind of a genius.” I’m not quite to the churchy stage where I stop and think WWBCD? but he does influence some of my behaviors. I will (only sometimes b/c I’m a cranky old lady with little patience), try to find a more generous train of thought regarding some people’s behaviors and not be so judgy. And of course he’s introduced me to new things I never would have known about before. mllemass, how would you feel if the tattoo was of *you* lol?

Ha! I’d absolutely think he’d lost his mind!
A cousin of mine got a tattoo of her mother after she died. She and my aunt never got along very well when she was alive, so I suppose my cousin thought putting her mother’s face on her shoulder would make everything better? The creepiest part of it is that it looks so much like her!
