I don't know if we already have an awards thread, so I'm attempting to make one myself! This past weekend, the Annie (animation) awards were presented, and Doctor Strange won for Animated Effects in a Live-Action Production. The YouTube video wouldn't play for me, so this is from their website. The award is presented at 59:15. I hope this is a good sign for an Oscar win, too! annieawards.org/watch-it-live/

I do hope dr Strange will win SOMETHING. Benedict is really unlucky when it comes to the awards. He has had zillions nominations, but in the end he almost always ends empty handed.

Lots of great actors don't win awards. They make it look so easy, and they often make their costars look better than themselves. Look at Johnny Depp. Gobs of actors around him have won awards, and he gets overlooked. Yet he is really brilliant under the silly costumes. I think he was rooked for Ed Wood.

BC, Doctor Strange and Sherlock are nominated for Empire Awards. People can vote! I think you have to be a resident of the U.K. to vote. I tried it earlier.

I used to adore Johnny Depp and Ed Wood was absolutely fantastic - I love this film. Sadly, though, Depp's career went down the hill IMO and nowadays he seems a shadow of his former self. Almost painful to watch at. And his acting in Black Mass - well, even Benedict was not very convincing in his praise (he always says nice things about people he works with but usually he is more convincing!)
