Some Fassy fans have always had issues with Vikander. And not just Fassy fans, there's a lot of weird hate against her. I remember one guy on IMDb went as far as insisting she isn't Swedish because "she doesn't look like one" even though she's worked plenty in Swedish movies before hitting mainstream fame. But some people insist she was plucked out of obscurity by Weinstein and is nothing but a Weinstein girl, so they hate her.

I have nothing against either one of them, but the age difference bothers me. It bothered me even in the movie they did together. It's just a pet peeve of mine, I guess. Now there's a new Reese Witherspoon movie they keep advertising where she's involved with some guy in his 20's - but he looks like a teenager to me and I find it all very disturbing.

I don't think it is anyone's place to view another person's marriage as to whether it is appropriate. It is a very personal thing that doesn't have to follow anyone's standards. They are both adults and they can make their own decisions on who they want to partner with for whatever reason they both deem important. I think both of them are talented actors and I wish them the best if they are getting married.

She was acclaimed and known in the UK but she wasn't popular AT ALL in the USA until Weinstein! She even admitted it when she said she tattooed his name on her backside!!! She totally sounds like a crazy Weinstein girl! Whatever that is! Ok I know what they I are talking but why accuse without proof to young actresses. What about Roberto Benigni. He was popular in Italy and he and his wife were known for acting in Jim Jarmush films in America but without Weinstein he wouldn't had won that Oscar! And what about Daniel Day-Lewis? Again acclaimed, respected in his native country but a completely unknown in America until Weinstein plucked him out of obscurity! I just checked her filmography and she doesn't even have too many Weinstein movies! She did Tulipan Fever but it was just released so people can really said Weinstein presented her to the world. At the time it was said that he liked her so much that he offered her a cameo in Burn, which wasn't a hit at all! So why they said that? A few days ago I read a tweet by a critic suggesting she won her Oscar thanks to Weinstein putting her competing in the wrong category but that Jennifer Jason Leigh deserved it. The irony is that it was JJL the one who acted in a Weinstein movie! The Danish Girl is by Focus Feature! Maybe they are suggesting something else but if that's the case then they are in the tabloid realms!

Sgev, I think what you're expecting is logic. You're not about to find any with either the sexist dudebros who hate Vikander or the jealous Fassy fangirls. Though to be fair many of the more, ummm, awards obsessed guys really dislike Roberto Benigni as well. I kind of find his cheeriness a tad tiring myself to be honest but Life Is Beautiful was soooooo good. It has to be one of my favorite movies ever.

I love Roberto Benigni, whatever happened to him? I haven't seen him in anything since he won the Oscar.

I think the Oscar win and his over effusiveness kind of affected him. That and especially that his very promoted next international movie, Pinocchio was a major disaster but I still remember when he was a film lovers darling thanks to his movies with Jim Jarmush.

Before Life is Beautiful, I saw Roberto Benigni in Johnny Stecchino (or Johnny Toothpick, its English translation). It's a crazy slapstick comedy about an ordinary guy who's mistaken for a mafia leader that he resembles and is known for chewing toothpicks (hence the nickname). His real-life wife co-stars with him in this film, too. It's not to everyone's taste, but I find it pretty funny.

I loved Johnny Stecchino, Il Monstro (sexism aside) and Down By Law too.
He did look a little manic.
