Of course it’s about power but it’s amazing how some people are naive enough to believe ideology or things like having the right politically correct jargon make someone a decent bloke. I just saw this tweet,
He has years attacking NRA! Which deserve to be attacked, by the way. And people can say he is hypocritical because he does violent movies but he isn’t trying to rally liberals. He is a liberal! I thought about it after reading an article about Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris controversy. It criticized the nasty part of the “sexual revolution”. How all those liberal and artistic types just abused of the supposedly freedom it “gave” to women. More recently it’s amazing how more than a few tried to present Hugh Hefner as a feminist icon when he died! Or how many people defended him against feminists critics because he was a champion of progressive causes! Why not saying it was good that he interviewed Martin Luther King but he was also awful to women! I think there is a modern version of all that right now with Tumblr politics. (And now I’m reading an article about awful Alt-right characters who apparently colluded with liberal types, including one who writes for a women section in ultra liberal Vice, to attack women! If someone is interested: www.buzzfeed.com/josephbernstein/heres-how-breitbart-and-milo-smuggled-white-nationalism )

The sexual revolution (which was brought about by better birth control, not that sordid pimp, Hefner) did give some freedom to women, but it was only the beginning; and a lot of men used it as an opportunity to abuse and exert their power over women in a different way. It took the feminist movement to raise consciousness about the unfair dynamics and begin a discussion about how to change things. Unfortunately, it’s been one step forward, two steps back.

My opinion is if we cut off the dicks of a couple of these guys other men might think twice before being pigs. It's the one thing they seem to esteem above everything else.
I mean, I have behaviors I have a hard time controlling, too, but what is up with these damn men and their dicks? I'm so tired of this.

Harrasment. There is a mention of an “incident” with Rose McGowan but it never said it was rape. According to the article she sued him but they reached an agreement. He paid her and surely that’s why she never said his name and she isn’t interviewed. Also interesting enough the “incident” happened during Scream. That was 10 years before Grindhouse, the movie she did with her boyfriend Robert Rodriguez and Tarantino, produced by Weinstein. I guess that’s the movie she accused her boyfriend to sold “to her rapist”
Ashley Judd did two Weinstein movies after her own “incident”. I think it shows how powerful this man is.
(I’m so slow that I think the post I’m answering was deleted!)

I think in some cases, such as Weinstein's, it's not really about dicks QueenZod. It's about the sense of entitlement that wealth and power brings to some people. They genuinely feel they have the right to do whatever they like, be it sexual or otherwise. The fact that they frequently get to buy their way out of trouble just increases this sense of themselves as not being subject to the same codes of behaviour as "ordinary" people.

No, I know you're right, Ellie, but it does mostly seem to be men acting like/being sexual predators, doesn't it? So hit 'em where it hurts. I find you have to draw very clear pictures for some people. Sexually harass others? Off with your dick. If the punishment is something they'll be upset about, then it's more effective, n'est pas?
i guess it's a good thing I'm not in charge of the world, huh? 😜

He answered to Ashley Judd accusations in an interview in Page Six. He mentioned she was abused when she was a kid and suggests her accusations are because some instability, which it’s low. According to her story, she seems to have handled the awful incident in a very intelligent way. But it make me thing how these types tend to chose vulnerable women. That’s why is common that victims are abused multiple times by different people. Of course this could happen to anyone but they know who is easier target. The same with Rose McGowan. She also seems to have had an awful childhood. It’s very infuriating!

Lol QueenZod. But I don't think it needs to be that extreme. I don't think many of them would behave that way if they thought they would be prosecuted. But they believe they're above the law. And, as has been seen time and time again, they frequently are. Even in the rare cases where cases do go to court justice is about who can buy the most expensive lawyers not about right and wrong.
And then you have situations like Polanski, where numerous movie stars and other people of influence (male and female) have basically said he should not be prosecuted for raping a 13 year old child because he makes good movies. Words fail me over that!!!

I saw that coming, too! Even before the accusations were public there were people in those awful award forums attacking young actresses because, according to them, they surely accepted his rumored “sexual advances”. How can they know? And even if it’s truth the blame is totally on him. We are talking about very young vulnerable women. I doubt he did something to consolidated actresses with long careers!
