Is he very famous in the States? I don't know Louis CK's work all that well but he is very famous. For example when he came to do stand-up here in Finland he did it at a stadium which normally houses the most famous bands and artists, and it sold out in minutes. I'd say he's probably (generally speaking) the most globally famous stand-up comedian there is currently. Louie, his TV show, was very popular too. The Rolling Stone listed him as the 4th best stand-up comedian of all-time, apparently.

Speaking of men exposing themselves I’ve actually just remembered something that hapened to me as a kid that I haven’t thought about for years and never spoken about to anyone so you’re getting an exclusive on here ladies!
When I was about four or five my parents were friendly with some people who owned a sweet shop They had a 17 year old nephew who was at Boarding School and he would spend some time with them in the holidays helping out in the shop. Anyway my Mother would pop in for a coffee and a chat with her friend and she would let me “help” the nephew do stuff like tidy up the stock room etc. He was great fun and I enjoyed myself and nothing happened except one occassion when he told me he had a pet mouse hidden and did I want to see it. I said yes and he unzipped his flies and partially exposed his penis. That’s all that happened. He didn’t touch me or ask me to touch him and he put it away again and and we got on with stacking shelves. I didn’t even know what I’d just seen but somehow I was aware that something wrong had happened. I didn’t tell my Mum. I don’t know why. I just didn’t. But I never went in the store cupboard with him again.
Later on when I was older and realised what had happened I still didn’t tell my Mum because I didn’t want her to be upset and blame herself.
Years after that I ran into the guy again at a funeral. By then he was the Managing Director of a large Company. We exchanged pleasentaries but I could not help wondering if he remembered what he had done. And on the odd occassion when I remember it, I still wonder why he did it. He never before or after did it again ( well not to me anyway). so was it just a moment of madness or was it evidence of a more sinister problem?
Do men have a compulsion to show their penis off that they mostly manage to suppress? I don’t know. It’s weird.

I wondered if this was the case with Louis CK. He claims he asked every time, but I can't imagine that the women said "sure!" Or if they did, why would they complain about him later? He must have "asked" while he was already doing it. Louis CK seems to have come to some understanding that what he did was wrong, that even though he "asked", asking in those situations wasn't really giving his victims a fair opportunity to decline because of the power imbalance in the relationships. From his statement: Though, there is a case to be made that a) he didn't actually ask for consent every time he exposed himself and b) he should have realized that asking a colleague, employee, someone he was mentoring if she wanted to see his dick was inappropriate and harassment, well before he opened his mouth, or his fly. www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2017/11/10/louis_c_k_s_masturbation_statement_unnervingly_misunderstands_the_concept.html

I think that Louis CK spent many years as a writer, which is why his statement was so well-written. It's also probably the reason people have pointed out the lack of the word "sorry": he knows exactly what he was writing, so the omission is deliberate. I've never been a fan of him or his humour. I did see him once in a movie - he had a small part in Trumbo. But I've never seen his show.
Your story reminded me of an incident that happened years ago. I had almost forgotten about it! My friend and I had spent the day in Toronto, and we accidentally found ourselves in a scary-ish neighbourhood. We were walking along the sidewalk when I saw a man standing still, looking in a store window. I thought nothing of it until I realized that the pink object he was holding in front of him was actually his penis! I grabbed hold of my friend's arm and gasped, and then she noticed him, too, and said "Just keep walking! Just keep walking!" as we hurried past him. There were lots of people walking by who either didn't notice him or didn't care. Later, when we walked past that window again (he was gone by then), I stopped to check what he had been looking at. I don't know what I was expecting, but there was just a boring display of men's shirts, or something like that. But then I noticed that we could see ourselves clearly in the glass, so the man had been looking at his own reflection in the window while he masturbated. In public. On the sidewalk. In the middle of the day.
These stories are really bringing up some strange memories!

He only sorry (not sorry?) Coz he got caught. Really really caught this time. www.vulture.com/2017/11/louis-c-k-masturbation-allegations-a-timeline.html

The New York Times published a long article about Weinstein’s “complicity machine”. They mention directly agencies (CAA in particular), agents, journalists, politicians (the Clintons), celebrities and employees by name. Something I found fascinating and that it was noticeable in some of the recent articles there and in The New Yorker but this time is much more clear is that they seem to have complete access to Weinstein e-mails. They clearly have a very close source in the company! And no, I don’t think it’s Bob. He is also named in the article as enable. An example: www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/12/05/us/harvey-weinstein-complicity.html

"America loves a great comeback story" can only apply to someone who was beloved in the first place - and HW never was. If we ever get a horrible accusation about Tom Hanks, for example, then yes America might love that comeback story.
