Sorry! I'm just not a fan of Kevin Hart, as an actor or as a person. But I guess I'm alone in that because I just read a couple of reviews, and the critics seem to love him even if they disliked the movie.

But I guess I'm alone in that because I just read a couple of reviews, and the critics seem to love him even if they disliked the movie. I'm not a huge fan either to be honest. It's just that it's not a "Kevin Hart" movie, even though he's in it. It's a very nice story, I actually didn't know it had gotten any reviews yet but I'm not surprised that it's been badly received. I feel like direct American remakes of foreign films is so...10 years ago. I always interpret a "dumb movie" to be like a very basic romantic comedy or some idiotic bro comedy lol.

Ha! Yes, that's what comes to mind when I think of a Kevin Hart movie - an "idiotic bro comedy".

Apparently the company erased Harvey Weinstein credit as producer. He is now just “executive producer”.
I really feel bad for Alfonso Gómez-Rejón.

Everybody knows Harvey was editing.
It is a bad situation for everybody involved with this movie specially because it is going to be the first one to be released after this mess.

If that was the case then they would had change the release date. Maybe they will. Actually I hope they do! It would be better for everyone involve in it, especially the young director.

I just wrote a comment on The Hollywood Reporter's article. I'm sick of them ripping apart The Current War at every opportunity!

I think the best thing for everyone involved is if they buried the Current War permanently. It will be impossible for it to not get caught up in the Weinstein sex abuse hoopla and put the cast in an extremely difficult position with the media. ,

I know i’ve said this before, but TCW is scheduled to play here at the Austin Film Festival in less than three weeks. There’s no cancellation yet and it was announced as the centerpiece of the festival. The director is slated to attend. I think he used to live here and may still. I have a wristband but that probably won’t get me in to see it. I don’t know if people will avoid it because of the scandal or flock to it because of the scandal. If I think I have any chance of getting in, i’m going to try.
