I can’t believe the bad reviews it’s receiving! I absolutely loved TTSS and really liked Let the Right One In so I was waiting for it. Actually I must confess that I was slightly disappointed that Alfredson cast Fassbender in the lead role and not BC. Nothing against him, he is as everyone else know a very talented actor but TTSS is still my favorite BC movie (surprisingly for me, Doctor Strange is the second one even when I was very disappointed when he decided to do a comic book movie. I’m snob! What can I do? 🤷♀️) and it was some kind of envy. Anyway Fassbender was originally cast in Tom Hardy role so he really wanted to work with him!
Tim Robey from The Telegraph gave it one stars out of five and called it “abominable”. I still remember his was the first The Fifth Estate review posted on Internet and he gave it 3 stars out of 5!

It's based on a novel by Jo Nesbø, I didn't know that. Nesbø's books are everywhere here, but they've always seemed like something I'd maybe buy my dad for Christmas but that's it. "Detective" always reads as "dime a dozen" to me although there are a ton of great Scandinavian detective shows (and Sherlock of course.) I've never bothered to even find out what they are about but out of interest now I googled the series containing The Snowman and it sounds a lot more interesting and funnier than I thought. Huh. Maybe I'll read those books some day.

I haven’t read him. Apparently Headhunters by TIG director was based in one of his books. Also Fassbender role is the main character in a series of book but now I doubt they will shoot the entire franchise at least it’s become a surprise hit in the box office. Not easy! THR said maybe it will even if the movie is not good considering the stars but I’m not sure they are really stars. Excellent actors, yes but not stars!

I love that one too, I just rewatched on Netflix. I pick up more things each time!
Has there been any news about Smiley's People?

Peter Straughan and his wife, Bridget O'Connor wrote TTSS. Sadly she died of cancer and in a very young age before the movie was released. The film is dedicated to her. He went to write The Snowman and I understand he is working in Smiley's People.

Also Fassbender role is the main character in a series of book Yeah, his name is "Harry Hole." I can't help but picture The Snowman as a porn parody of Harry Potter.

It is not that nasty. He says that Fassbender is an A class actor. The choices he made somehow were wrong. Flopbender is a true thing. Why does he chooses so many roles (and they say BC is everywhere?)? The article forgot Macbeth, another flop and though he got a nomination for Steve Jobs it was a financial flop. And they forgot Slow West. He's been having flops for a loooong time. www.boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?id=michaelfassbender.htmBudgets Slow West 2mi Steve Jobs 30mi Macbeth 15-20 mi X-Men Apoc 178 mi Light between Oceans 20mi Assassins Creed 125 mi Tresspass Against Us Song to Song Alien Covenant 97 mi The movies, except some exceptions, were critical flops too.
