That’s what I thought, too! I’ve seen it before. 🤷🏻♀️

I don’t think it has been seen before because the shop owner tweeted that he is so happy that Scott put out the video. I do think there was a version or two from other people’s phones in the store where you couldn’t hear the whole interaction.

The other version is the security camera without sound and not so good image quality.
Funnily, I have seen people saying that they watched it before (again not the same version) but there are a few criticizing BC and all the people there because they aren't wearing masks!!! LOL Although to be fair, he is Doctor Strange and he could see into the future so he should have know!!!!

I definitely saw the “sound” version of this video before, but there were other versions posted online at the time. There were a couple of other customers in the store who posted their own little videos. And I think one version was filmed by the owner’s friend from behind the counter.
But I do remember SD talking about this video, saying that his crew had noticed a comic book store close to their filming site, and thinking it would be funny to send Benedict there in costume. The crew had gone to the store in advance to let the owner know (or maybe ask him?) about filming in there, so it wasn’t a complete surprise. It’s possible that SD talked about the video and showed it at one of those comic-con events, but hadn’t actually posted it online before.

I don’t know who these SyFy Wire people are, but they speak the truth!

It's fascinating how those pieces just fabricate their own narratives!
I remember some people were sure that Joaquín Phoenix was the first option and in order to do that, they just erased that interview of him saying he couldn't do Dr. Strange/ rejected the role because he was doing Hamlet during the scheduled shooting. Now it seems they just erased the Joaquín Phoenix news (that happened a pair of days after the Penguins of Madagascar event) in order to say he was lying when told to the press he couldn't make that role. Also, they are ignoring all the interviews of the producers saying they changed the schedule to accommodate him because he was the first and their favorite option for the role.

Poor Benedict - having to lie when asked about his roles! After STID, didn’t he say he was never going to lie again, because he ended up looking like a fool? He kept having to defend himself “They told me to lie about it!”. It’s fine to say “I can’t talk about it”, but denying something that’s true must be awful for actors, no matter what they agree to in their contracts. So Benedict did tell the truth about Doctor Strange because of Hamlet!
