I happened to be watching tv this afternoon and saw that PBS was showing The Empty Hearse. It was, of course, listed as Masterpiece Mystery in the tv listings (they're still doing that!!). So I put it on while I got ready to go out, and when I looked in the mirror I saw that I had a big goofy smile on my face. It's that Sherlock magic at work - I can't watch it without smiling!
It continues on Monday afternoon, so I know how I'll be spending my afternoons when I'm home!

I love that episode. The entire reunion in the restaurant is pure slapstick with a really upsetting undercurrent. I thought Martin’s acting in that scene was among the best I’ve ever seen him do. All that relief, anger, disbelief, and happiness, morphing into sheer blind rage, done without words. Sublime. Ben is perfection throughout.
And then that too cute date with Molly. So flirty! 😍 The kiss in the stairwell. Sigh.
And the piece de resistance being Sherlock’s really sh*tty behavior in the tube car.
The whole thing is just so enjoyable, more so if you don’t think about the gaping plot holes. 😁

The episode is meta af and the "blow up the parliament" plot doesn't really amount to anything except an elaborate homage to Guy Fawkes but who cares, I love that episode. It's my favorite episode of series 3 easily, the fanfiction-y theories of Sherlock's fall are a hoot. And I'm glad John punched Sherlock!

I think each episode is my favourite as I'm watching it. There's just so much about them to love! But of S3, my true favourite has to be The Sign of Three. It's actually in my top two of all the episodes.
As soon as I find a few free hours, I'm going to re-watch it all from the beginning while sitting inches away from the tv. I've done it before! It feels like you're right in there with them. And I pause it a lot to take a really good look at everything, so it takes a long time to watch each one. I may have to wait for a cold, snowy winter day to do this, when I'm stuck at home.

I miss the days of vcrs when you could watch your entire show in 1/4 time. It took forever but gosh it was pretty in slo-mo.

Has anyone else seen the promos on PBS for PBS Passport?
I had the tv on PBS just now, and not really paying attention until I heard Benedict's voice. They were showing lots of very short clips of PBS shows to advertise this new Passport thing they're doing, and Sherlock clips are included. But I was a bit startled to realize that I didn't recognize the clips! Normally, I could see 2 seconds (or even one second) of an episode and know immediately where it's from, but I was baffled. There's one clip near the end with Sherlock sitting in his chair, saying "That's awesome". When does he say that??? Have I reached the point where I no longer remember every little thing that happened on the show?
I obviously need to watch them all again!

Isn’t that from TST, in the beginning, when he’s just sitting there, maniacally solving crimes from his phone? The part where John says, “you can’t keep spinning plates like this?”

I've been trying to find the PBS ads to post here, which feature clips from Sherlock and The Hollow Crown with BC looking at the camera at the end. I think they are for a pledge drive. No luck so far, though.

Maybe! I was hoping to see the ad again, but without commercials, you have to be watching between programs so I kept missing the ads.
I didn't even bother checking the PBS website because their videos won't play outside the US.

I just finished watching Endeavour on PBS, and they immediately started showing clips of Sherlock! So starting next Sunday, PBS is putting on S4 of Sherlock. How exciting!
