I loved the 1900 house! It was so fascinating! They had another one of those on recently, where a bunch of people agreed to live in an English tenement. It’s foggy in my mind, but they lived one decade every week? I just love learning about all those little bits of history.
Didn’t the girls in the 1900 house lose it over the horrible shampoo? I think they cheated at one point, lol.
There was also one of those about wintering in the American West. You needed a pile of wood bigger than your house, so all they did was chop wood. I think bunches of them “died.”

YES!!! THANK YOU for giving me the name of it (it has been driving me crazy for the longest time!!).
I checked on Wiki and found out it had been on 2 seasons but i guess I didn’t like the second season much because I had totally forgot about it.
But I adored the first set of “bathroom divas” and so did Dan even though he hates opera. The journey all the people took to do something that was only a far off dream of theirs was remarkable. It was so interesting.
And we watched the British show about the fellow and the choral singers as well. It was really good too but less of a competition and more of a documentary about the forming of choral singers from a community base.
I know something of that struggle - when I was first teaching I formed a choir group at a school that was situated in a very low income area. My motto was “if you want to sing... you’re in!” (a lot of school choirs are all about excluding enthusiastic but totally untalented singers). We even had an elective mute in the choir - she wanted to join but would only mouth the words. We didn’t win any prizes but the kids had fun and it gave a lot of students who weren’t good in sports something to join in with. The only reason I ever kicked anyone out was if, after multiple warnings, their behaviour was disruptive to the functioning of the group. I think I only asked one kid to leave in my seven years as choirmaster. And some of the students were very hard luck cases who were “principle office” type kids.

I remember that show! It was like a pioneer version of Survivor. I don't think I liked it very much because they made it a competition.
That brings up memories of elementary school. Every year, our school put on a Christmas concert and all the classes were involved. One teacher was in charge of the choir. She would walk around and listen as we sang, and afterwards she would point out the students that were supposed to mouth the words rather than sing out loud! I remember being absolutely terrified as I sang because I didn't want to be one of the '"mouthers". Can you imagine that happening today?!
