This is a cute interview, but it's also a sad reminder that it was supposed to be part of the promotion for The Current War, which would have been out this Friday.

OMG! I love those type of silly rapid fire question interviews! Thank you so much for posting this here!
He was great - especially since we know he doesn’t really so stuff like this (one word answers) very easily.
Now excuse me - I have to go watch it another dozen times or so!

The video seems to have vanished! Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Did you realise that there is a second part to this video? I just watched it again and then immediately after it went into a one on one interview with BC and a woman interviewer. It’s focus is TCW and he goes into quite a bit of detail about why he took the role and how he perceived the character. He says he kept a tie from the Edison costume. And he confirms that there will be no more Sherlocks “at the moment”. He said something about the show being “at rest” and then laughed and said that is what people say when they are not in the acting business. I’ll see if I can link to just the second interview. Ok I tried again and finally got it (I think) - video.vanityfair.com/watch/toronto-international-film-festival-dealing-with-fame-as-benedict-cumberbatch-and-thomas-edisonHope it works! :-))

I didn't post the second interview because I had seen it before and I'm sure it's already somewhere here in one of the threads. But it's always good to watch it again!

Sorry if it is a repeat! I’ll blame it on old age!
I must say that this interview, moreso than the first one, made me a bit sad about the fate of TCW. You can see how much effort he puts into doing characters and how much he cares about his roles and projects. To see this one dumped without a fair showing is... well it is a real waste of his talent and the efforts of everyone involved. That just doesn’t sit right with me.

I’m not giving up on it yet. They spent a great deal of money on it and I’m sure they’d like to recoup some of that. Maybe they’ll release it next year. Or even direct to dvd would be fine with me.

I would consider either one of those options to be highly desirable at this point! But even then it would be a bit bittersweet. Sure we are getting the random interview now that was meant to be the promo for TCW but think of what it would have been like if all of the HW shit hadn’t have happened. And if they do release it next year I would have to think that BC won’t be available for any (or much) promo work to publicize it - which will hurt the sales of it (with whatever format it comes out in).

When I think of the garbage movies that get tons of promotion, I just want to scream! Before that stupid Emoji (9% on RT) came out, the cast was on every talk show you can think of to promote it. But nothing for The Current War? That would be so unfair!
