I can understand that not everybody likes Benedict, but I don't understand people who have made it their career to ridicule those who do like him. Some horrible person at Lainey Gossip wrote a long piece about Benedict hosting the Laureus awards, but first she went on and on wondering why he would have been asked to do that. Then she wrote about his embarrassing dancing, even though his fans were tweeting about how good he was. She said it was especially embarrassing because he danced as though he thought he was very good. And then she compared his dancing to other actors, and admitted he wasn't half as bad as they were. So she insulted Benedict and any actor who had ever had the nerve to have a little fun and dance in public.
And if your job is to poke fun at celebrities and their fans, shouldn't you at least be funny when you do it? And maybe do a tiny bit of research first so that you don't sound like such an idiot.

That site has always hated him and interesting enough they were the first "gossip site" to agreed with deluded fans suggesting his marriage was a stunt to win an Oscar (the also deluded owner claims to be publicist and knowing Hollywood behind the scenes. She doesn't!) BC even mentioned them (not by name!) during the Oscar campaign: how dare to say such things about his family! Later when deluded people got much more crazy they just claimed BC fans were so mad that they believed his wife and son were fake!
Just ignore them! I think all those pseudo progressive cheap gossip blogs aren't what they use to be a few years ago. I mean they were always bullies with click-baity mean headlines who attracted fools but I'm not sure they are so popular right now.

I agree. Ignore them. There are always people who want to rain on someone’s parade. I thought his dancing was adorable. He’s really good! But then nothing he does can ever be bad, lol. It looks like he had a great time and fit the bill perfectly. He was funny, charming, a bit goofy, handsome and clever. It’s not like he wrote the jokes himself, anyway, and so what if a few fell flat? They always do in a situation like that.
It takes guts to get up in front of hundreds of people and do what he did. I wouldn’t have been able to do it and I wonder how many who are making snarky comments would either. Life’s too short to look for or read horrible things people have said about BC. IMO, of course. I refuse to let my adoration of him be dimmed by a few shitty people.

BC on my local paper Twitter account again... sport section!
It’s a video but they don’t even bother to mention the context or the final joke! They just said he dared to challenge Federer to play ping pong!

I had an unexpected Benedict treat this afternoon! I noticed that NBC was showing the Laureus Sports Awards, and I was able to catch the last part. I love being able to see him other than on my computer!
I like to imagine that my tv was probably very confused because I never, ever watch sports or anything sports-related. If it could talk, it would have said "Are you sure this is the channel you wanted? You do know that this is a sports program, right? Would you like to keep searching for one of those home-flipping shows you spend so much time watching?"

They love him at Laureus. 😀. I’d say the new baby will definitely be here by Feb. Whether it will be announced in the public domain by then is another matter.

It wouldn’t surprise me that the baby is here already. Ben said he couldn’t go to comic con because of the new baby coming, and Comic-Con is going on now. Also, his body double’s gig ends on January 15. I looked up Hal, and his birth wasn’t announced until 3 weeks later (Daily Mail). None of my business of course.
