I personally think fans should had ignored her.
Some of those "journalists" are very vengeful. Remember that The Telegraph gossip columnist who was angry at BC because he ignored her in a event full of press! She couldn't explain beyond that what was her problem with him but she asked for nasty encounters with him on Twitter to "expose" him. Very professional! She received a LOT of NICE stories instead but that shows the human quality of some of those "professionals". Then, of course, there is that young theatre critic who was very contemptuous with his fans on Twitter and after being called out by a few of them, someone of her paper offered to pay a lot of money for previews tickets on Twitter and she went and broke protocol to write a negative review in which the main point was accusing the production of made a populist Shakespeare interpretation aimed to his dumb fans. Of course, she is the real dumb here because she got in problems. First she justify herself saying they knew they were giving total access to another paper in exchange for a positive review (a very serious accusation almost immediately forgotten probably in part because there were not proofs nor total access to any paper); Then she wrote another review months later saying how great it was the production after all those previews 😣 And finally, after Sonia Friedman took responsibility saying she shouldn't have charged the same for previews but they wanted to offer very cheap tickets during the complete run, she said it was because that she did what she did, of course! She saw something unfair and had to act!...also because she was tired of reading positive things by audiences everywhere! (Seriously she said that to The Stage and the interviewer didn't challenged but why he would do? They work in the same field and probably they are friends!). The point is a few of the less talented people in press are very "sensitive" and vengeful so sometimes is better to ignore dumb comments. They aren't important professionals or really influencing in their field but they can go until the end trying to destroy someone or something when they feel offended even if they put in risk their own careers for it!
