"If you're implying that Johnlockers are specific to Europe/North America you're mistaken. I mean the official Korean trailers for the show (since S1) are definitely something that people everywhere took to legitimize that relationship. They're pushing the Sherlock/John love story aspect hard, it's not even arguable. "
Yes, I fully realise that. I was using that dynamic for theoretical purposes only, for illustrating the pitfalls of judging the whole of something from one small segment.

I don’t know if this was posted. I haven’t watched everything (including what I posted!)

This is the fan art Benedict was looking at when he got teary. The sound wasn't very good, but I'd love to know how it was described that had him so emotional.

Honestly when I watched the video I didn’t think BC was crying in an emotional sense at all. I think he was laughing at the first drawing (the one with Dr. Strange in the tree) because it struck him as really funny. And then he got the giggles so he turned his head to gain more control of himself (and I think he was being careful not to appear as if he was insulting the artist with too much laughing). I think he said something about “tears” because he was covering for his laughing and you know that when you laugh sometimes tears start to flow as well.
Did he not pick the first print (the one of him in the tree) as the one that he wanted to take home with him? That’s what I understood.
Maybe I just have it all wrong and should watch the video again but that is my first impression.

If he was laughing, what was suddenly so funny? He had been looking at that piece of art for a while with no reaction. It was only when they gave the artist's explanation that he reacted.

Somewhere I saw the one where they are laughing and it’s very well-made AND very funny. Still I’m not sure if he is trying to hide he is laughing or if he is indeed crying. Maybe it’s both! He kind of looks moved in certain moment and someone there said “awww he is crying!”. The funny part to me was Tom Hiddleston expression when he realizes something was happening with BC. I don’t know why but it made me laugh.
I think he chose the one posted by mllemass
EDITED: I just watched the video and I think he is indeed laughing and kind of lost it after they told him to smile big (like the drawings). Someone posted it on Twitter and the characters had a huge very silly smile so maybe that’s why. Hiddleston told him something, too. He definitely wipes some tears, tho.
Tom Holland pick the “one with Benedict in the tree” (the funny one), BC actually chose the one posted here which was also chosen by Pom Klementieff.

He and Pom Klementieff are both laughing, but trying not to. She is wiping tears too.
