This Variety article mentions the Henry Sugar series, but not TPOTD. It only says that Benedict was nominated for an Oscar for The Imitation Game.

Lol! So much for him heeding Sophie’s “Remember, you’re nit a comedian” advice. Seriously though I’m sure he’ll be great. But, probably like Sophie, I’m always nervous when he does live comedy because it’s a really hard thing to succeed at. So I shall wait for your reviews ladies before watching. Either that or I shall keep a cushion nearby to hide behind just in case of any cringe moments 😱.
ETA. My favourite cake/pie is Banoffee pie.

Yes, he was great! He’s always great! But the episode got terrible reviews and I think it was listed as the worst episode of the season that year. Maybe it’s because I’m in my little BC’s bubble but I think some of the sketches became very popular with time. I mean the “Why is Benedict Cumberbatch Hot?” and the one with Pete Davidson‘s Chad are frequently mentioned by people. Some comments on YouTube claimed his was one of the best Chad sketches!

Also Arcade Fire are great!
EDITED I’m just remembering that before going to bed, I saw that Arcade Fire was trending but didn’t bother to investigate why? Duh! Lol!

Arcade Fire seems to be big friends of the show. They had been invited 5 times and apparently performed in sketches so hopefully they do one with BC!

Some clips make me cringe so hard my back starts hurting. I mean, I know folks find things funny and totally have fun with them, but some things just make give me the weirdest second hand embarrassment that sometimes I have to discuss it with my therapist later. God I am so weird. My favorite cake is cake. Any kind of cake - carrot, lemon, Boston cream (which is called a pie, but is really a cake), chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, coconut. Just CAKE. My favorite pie is sour cherry, but I love most pies EXCEPT peanut butter pie, which has the most gag-ariffic texture.

I saw a comment saying that it’s surprising he was invited again because they don’t invite guests who didn’t do well the first time! C’mon! Maybe it’s me as a fan speaking but he wasn’t bad at all! He was committed and funny (he even played a Chippendale dancer predicting Sam Elliot words!), the issue with that episode was mostly the writing! There were a few cringe jokes, indeed but he was game and did his part. Actually, I always thought the Why BC is hot? sketch was one of the bad ones but people are asking for a continuation! Again, that one and the Chad one kind of become “classics” with even not fans mentioning them. And he was sublime in the one with Pete Davidson! And the one with him imitating Jeremy Irons in Die Hard 3 was perfectly acted, too. IMHO he was very versatile, it was the writing what failed. Also, he was invited to do a random cameo once after it and cast members have constantly said nice things about him on social media which make me think that he got along well with SNL people. I imagine that’s more important than having a pair of random TV critics writing positive reviews on Internet. Anyway, the guy suggested he hasn’t even watched it so… Also, it’s kind of funny to see some of the most hysterical Wanda fans feeling disappointed that it wasn’t Elisabeth Olsen the one announced! They were sure she would be there because they believe she is the absolute star of the film and that for whatever reason Marvel is hiding that “fact” and making naive people to believe that Doctor Strange is the lead! But of course, SNL would want to invite her instead of him, right?! Well, life is unfair! 😉 (It’s like Sherlock fan fiction fanatics again! Just deluded wackos!) EDITED, Here is a list with Marvel actors invited as guests in SNL, screenrant.com/saturday-night-live-snl-hosts-mcu-marvel-stars-actors/Surprisingly or maybe not, Robert Downey Jr. was never invited during his Iron Man run! He was host once in the 1990s and, infamously, a cast member in the 1980s but nothing since then. He seems very affable but was very problematic for years and I can imagine he didn’t have the best relationship with Lorne Michael!

When Benedict hosted the last time, the following week Dave Chappell hosted it. It had to be the most unfunny episode I’d ever seen. And yet, he was nominated for an Emmy for his appearance! In one of the sketches, he played a guy who lived with his mother. He has a bunch of his buddies over to watch a game or something, and when his mother brings out snacks for them, he doesn’t eat them. Instead, she breast-feeds him. His buddies are grossed out. Yes, that was the brilliant sketch he agreed to do that got him an Emmy nomination.

Doh! I was trying to figure out what fans of Benedict’s Mum had to do with it. Then I eventually realised it was a different Wanda. 🤦♀️ I’m not up to speed with the multiverse!
