Good one QZ! 🤣😂 Dickens: he writes Canadian aviation history/biography books mainly, but the book that the podcast was about is a biography about Canada's only World Heavyweight Boxing Champion - Tommy Burns. It's now considered to be the gold standard of biographies of the man. He has 9 books published. He and our close friend have also co-authored a manuscript about her father's life in the navy but haven't found a publisher yet (COVID19 interference). Thought that would bring a smile to your face roverpup! Well done , you must be very proud of him.

I am gushingly proud of him!
He was a newspaper reporter and editor for 30 years, as well, winning many awards for his investigate reporting and feature writing.
We met in college while we were both in the journalism course.
And have never looked back since. Lol!

Just heard some good news on the movie front for one of my husband's books. Apparently there is a new film option offer in the works by a serious film company. Dan's publisher just emailed him with a notice that he is ironing out the details with the director (based in Toronto) and the producer (based out of Montreal) and would be in touch with us in the near future. Looks like they might want Dan to be involved as well with it on a consultation basis. Exciting times!

Too bad I can't seem to reproduce pix from a file any more. Today we found that King Sky Productions publicly announced on their website that they have officially optioned my hubby's book on the boxer Tommy Burns and they used the term "limited series", so that sounds like they are considering making it into a miniseries. Here's the link to this great news! Only fly in the ointment is they labeled it a"novel", which it isn't, of course! www.kingskyproductions.com/news.html

How exciting! Will there be movie stars involved and a red-carpet premiere?

Well considering he wrote the book 20 years ago and it has been optioned several times, we'll be lucky if we are alive if this deal is ever comes to fruition! LOL!
But seriously, it's at least some progress and he gets paid royalties on the optioning each year. And it was mentioned in the contract that they were interested in using him as an active consultant on the production.
So that's additional "jing-jang"!
Looks like they're pretty serious about it - making a public statement and all.
I understand totally the snail's pace that BC's project seem to crawl at! Development Hell is a real place!
