I don't think so! But you made me doubt so I just listened that part again. He agreed with AT that BC has never been better before but adds "he's always great" and said he is a "critic's favorite". He and she agreed that he has a "better chance than the series" apparently based on the Gold Derby's charts and that is the weird part to me! (He said a vote against him is that he has a better chance than the series)
It's around 12:10.

I'll try to listen again and I think they think that goldderby is where all emmy voters go to decide their votes.
METACRITIC IMDB RT
THE LOOMING TOWER 74 7.9 96
GODLESS 75 8.4 88
PATRICK MELROSE 80 8.4 88
THE ASSASSINATION OF 74 8.5 91
GIANNI VERSACE
TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN 74 8.5 94
Patrick Melrose is best rated than the others. RT's is the less trustworthy of the ratings. I've been reading about it.
This means that all the series is going to be considered so, for instance, Jennifer Jason Leigh may still get nominated. The series is going to be watched by more people before the nominations end. If the two missing episodes are as good as the three already shown I think the series got a real chance.

I read a few reviews of The Assassination... and I remember they weren't THAT great. I was slightly surprised that the main actor is considered an almost sure bet to win on those sites because one review even said he was the weakest link. (I haven't watched it yet) Clearly it and him got better reviews later and based in that chart I'm guessing it's the most accesible of all. Ryan Murphy's products tend to be accesible. I loved his OJ Simpson series but TBH most of them are just very enjoyable guilty pleasures.
The Pacino's movie was very well received, including or specially his performance. The same with The Looming Tower (which probably will do better than the Golden Derby people think considering the voters are old people) And I read one review of Genius which was more mixed. It says Antonio Banderas was the saving grace but he wasn't enough time on screen even when he was the star! Something along the lines!

I went to see what people were saying on the Patrick Melrose forum in GD. They hated BC, mostly, though there were not many participants.
I don't understand why some people hate BC so much.
In RT there is like a campaign against PM. Some people say it is a bot.

Those forums are like Tumblr. Members have favorites and try to "destroy" anyone who they think could defeat them. I guess it's stronger with them because the competition is direct.
I still remember that when Sherlock won someone there was trying to convince everyone that the Emmy voters were homophobic because his favorites were the people of A Normal Heart! It didn't matter that a similar themed but much better production called Angels in America won everything years before! It's so silly!
Talking about crazy fangirls/boys, a few weeks ago after it was announced that Ironbark was very popular at Cannes market and was announced the Channel 4 movie about Brexit (and with critics raving about Patrick Melrose and the huge success of the Avengers), I saw tweets by some angry Fassbender and Hiddleston fans moaning in a conversation about BC getting all the work meanwhile his favorites apparently are unemployed! IMHO that's the kind of mentality of award forums, too.

If those Haters ever meet up with those Hiddleston and Fassbender tweeters just image the fireworks!!! Two worlds colliding! LOL!! :-))

They were two or maybe three persons. I’m sure most Fassbender and Hiddleston fans are more rational. The same with Cumberbatch’s fans. There are a few extreme cases but most are not like that.

Both Cumberbatch and Pacino climbed one place or Jeff Daniels fell two. There weren’t other changes but, not related with BC, apparently Twin Peaks is not a front runner anymore!
I don’t want to sound mean because I haven’t watched his performance and I really like him but it’s very entertaining to see the ex star of Mexican soap operas Ricky Martin being above the sublime Hugo Weaving!
