I can’t wait until this comes out in some kind of home version in Canada. I still haven’t got a Blu-ray machine but I would like to, so I can start building a blue-ray collection. Certainly PM is a good place to begin (actually I have one other blu-ray disc - Sherlock Season 4 - which of a Christmas gift and I haven’t been able to see it yet because of a lack of machine that will play it!!!).
But regardless I really must get a proper machine and a copy of PM and get my Blu-ray collection underway!!!

When I bought my new tv a few years ago, I decided to buy a new DVD player at the same time. The one I had was part of combo DVD/VCR, and it didn't work very well, so I thought I'd get a new DVD player to go with my new tv. But the salesman convinced me to buy a Blu-Ray player, instead, to get the best picture and sound. I told him that I didn't own any Blu-Ray videos, but he explained that the Blu-Ray player also plays DVDs, so I bought it. Since then, I try to get videos as Blu-Rays whenever possible. Tv shows tend to only come as DVDs, which is fine. Sherlock came out as both formats, and I have both. And lately the videos have come in a package with both formats anyway!

Here are a few gifs from the UK DVD BTS featurette: lichtblickpink.tumblr.com/post/176015701841/behind-the-scenes-of-patrick-melrose-from-theThanks to lichtblickpink for posting them. She doesn't have a great impression of the DVD itself, tho. I really hope Showtime do a better job. Yesterday I checked and they usually release DVDs three months after the airing so maybe we will see a Patrick Melrose DVD and hopefully, Blu-Ray on September. After the Emmy nominations I think we certanly will have a DVD. I doubt it will disappear like Guerrilla did after it was totally ignored by awards. September is also perfect for promotion because that month is the ceremony. Now my wish is that they release it on the right format, Blu-Ray. It seems a few of their recent titles are only avaliable on DVD but Patrick Melrose cinematography is just to beautiful to ignore it like that! If they released Twin Peaks in the two formats they can do the same with Patrick Melrose! It doesn't have David Lynch but it deserves it!

Showtime seemed to have a promo video for every episode, so wouldn't they be included on the DVD? And I remember longer interviews with the actors. I was also hoping for commentaries for at least a couple of the episodes.

I like how that featurette contrasts the guests sitting down to the fancy dinner party, with the support group seated around a table.

I like how that featurette contrasts the guests sitting down to the fancy dinner party, with the support group seated around a table. That's part of the episode and it's brilliant, indeed! That particular episode is a big cinematografic achievement. They haven't announced anything yet about the DVD.
