I still haven’t bought Patrick Melrose, but a few weeks ago a friend told me that it was showing on Acorn Tv, which she had subscribed to through her library membership. I haven’t had a library card since I was a student, so I went down to my local branch this week and got a brand new card! My best friend and I used to drop by that library at least once a week to check out books, and we had read every paperback in the Teen department. But I hardly recognized the place now with all the computers everywhere and the “self checkout“ machine!
With my library card, I can access ebooks and also get free subscriptions to music and streaming services, such as Acorn TV. They give you few shows to select from at first, and after you pick one, your 7-day free membership begins. You’re then given access to lots more shows. At the end of seven days, you go back to the library website, choose another show and begin another 7-day free membership. I was a bit worried about being charged for membership, but I haven’t given them any financial information.
Unfortunately, Patrick Melrose isn’t there anymore, but I’m hoping it will be back. In the meantime, I’ve been watching Vera, which is on regular tv too, but it’s much better without commercials!

If Acorn TV had it, it was for a very brief time! They released the DVD in the USA but I also recently checked their streaming catalog and it doesn't seem to be there. At least here in Latin America.
Actually, Patrick Melrose haven't been released in any format here in Mexico yet! Such a shame because BC's work in Brexit was received with a lot of raves by local critics!

It's still streaming on Crave as far as I know. And it the DVD (region 1) and Blu-ray are for sale on Amazon.com, but they ship to Canada. 😊
It's on sale right now too!
It's also for sale on the PBS site for a bit more money but it doesn't say which region it is.

I bought it from Showtime. It was $13 USA for the entire series. Not bad. 😃

Well, I FINALLY got my Bluray disc set of Patrick Melrose! It was one of my Xmas presents. Popped it in and it wouldn't play in my region free machine! I was sweating bullets. I worked on it for HOURS and finally gave up and made dinner. Then after dinner I went back at it to no avail but THEN in desperation I searched madly and found a sheet of paper that had instructions on it telling how to set the machine for different regions (marked VERY IMPORTANT!!!) and it WORKED!!! I just finished watching Bad News. Glorious! My Xmas is complete. 😁

I’m glad you got your blu ray to work! I always have problems with my very expensive (and overpriced) blu ray player. It’s supposed to play everything, even DVDs, but sometimes I’ll get a message saying that the machine doesn’t play “this type of disc” - even when it’s something I’ve watched a thousand times before. If I keep clicking on the Play button, it will tell me to check that the connections are ok. Eventually, it plays - but what a pain! I’ve had it for years, so it’s way past any warranty, but I hate the thought of replacing something that cost me so much money.

The other thing we have been watching is the complete series of Cagney and Lacy (not in Bluray but it does look great being played on the Bluray machine). It has really held up well over the years. Both of us loved that show when it was first broadcast in the 80s.
