It doesn't sounds like something that will happen very soon? Doesn't?
I hope we have soon news about some interesting new project. Maybe from the Cannes market.

I never thought much of this project -War Magician, I mean- but with this movie -Operation Meancemeat- coming I like it less.

Operation Mincemeat sounds pretty good, but I still want War Magician. I find it interesting that there are still so many untold but true war stories!
My parents were children in Italy during WWII. My mother lived on a farm, and she remembers finding shell casings in the fields and bringing them home. They would polish the brass and use them as vases. And my father lived in a town and was fascinated by the soldiers he saw in the streets. He remembers that the “American” soldiers were really nice to the local children, giving them food and candy. My grandmother (my mother’s mother) once told me that soldiers would come around demanding food and shelter, and they weren’t allowed to say no. My grandmother gave them whatever they wanted and hoped they would just leave. How scary!

There so many great war stories yet to tell, for sure! From so many sources!
One of Dan's uncles (by marriage) was a young boy in Slovakia during the war and has dozens of "witness stories" about resisting the Nazis when they invaded.
I am looking forward to The War Magician too. With the right writer it could be a fascinating tale. And I'd certainly go see the Mincemeat one as well.

I was remembering that before 1917 came out, there was lots of complaining of “Here we go again - another war movie!”, because it’s all been told before. But that movie was unique in not only how it was filmed, but also in the personal story it told. And even Alan Turing’s story wasn’t well known before The Imitation Game.
The janitor at the elementary school I attended was an old man originally from Ireland, who had fought during WWII. He used to speak to us at a school assembly every year for Remembrance Day. One day soon, there won’t be anyone left who was actually there during that war. The more stories that are told, the better.

I'm always happy to see the possibility of this movie surfacing again. But a Jurassic World director, ew.
