Interesting that this news wasn’t mentioned by Variety or THR. I mean she is a very hot actress right now, doesn’t? Even if she is mainly a TV actress! Actually probably the new real stars are all from TV! People go to see superheroes at the movie theatre but new popular actors are from TV! That’s my theory, anyway!
Another theory: maybe they are waiting to confirm the other male star! Penkovsky should be a very important part! In theory more relevant than hers (but I haven’t read the script so I could be wrong!). I was thinking which actor with a similar age and relevant name as Cumberbatch could play him and I thought in Fassbender. They could go for a real Russian, of course! But I was thinking in big names! Then I thought it could polemic if they hire someone like him with the Me Too stuff! He was accused of DV years ago and he seems to have a low profile recently! Actually I checked his IMDb entry and it seems he is busy preparing for his new movie, Kung Fury 2 with Arnold Schwarzenegger and David Hasselhoff (WTF?!!! I guess they went for all the German sounding names in Hollywood!!!) He did another X-men movie, too!
Anyway I thought he would be great for the role of a mysterious and probably dangerous man who should be contacted by the ordinary British guy played by BC.
