Was that Andy Serkis' actual comment or something else? I couldn't remember his specific words.
But on IMDB, release is specifically slated as 19th October next year. I hadn't thought there was any particular reason to quibble that.
And that Andy Serkis didn't quote the specific date on Graham Norton, could just have been because he was only really expecting to talk about the Ape movie and it slipped from mind in the moment.

Well the source material is quite scary and violent in many places. I read the stories a long time ago and it gave me nightmares occasionally, but it was also very exciting and interesting.
Mowgli was nearly 17 years old when the set of stories end, so I would have to say that the film could appeal not just to children if this version stays close to RK's material. I never associate the stories with the Disney version - the books are what I am used to (and I have only seen excerpts of the Disney animated version).

Apparently October will be a good month with both Mowgli and Beautiful Boy (Chalamet, Steve carrell) premiering Hopefully we will get some trailers soon. When do you reckon?
