This guy is claiming the blame on the wrong interpretation of that article is now on the author,
I remember the writing was a little confusing in that paragraph but it wasn't presented as a direct quote and people on Twitter edited out the part of him quickly changing of opinion and campaigning for the lockdown.
Also Shipman corrected journalists that were straightforwardly claiming that Cummings wanted to "kill grandpas"!
The creepy part is that if you read the comments there are individuals "not surprising with it because the writer is "transphobic" and "racist"! They found their new super villain!
Anyway, social media is a nut house and it's clearly impossible to have a rational and moderate discussion!
There are trolls all over the place these days. Last week I got into it with a guy on NextDoor over wildlife in town. There was a mountain lion sighting and he wanted all the dangerous wild animals exterminated. The thing is, we have mountain lions in town because they live on the deer that come down from the nearby foothills. Everyone knows this and most people teach themselves what to do if they happen to run into one jogging or hiking. When one is spotted, everyone is delighted - they’re beautiful animals and seeing one in the wild is an awesome experience. We also have bears in town which are a bit more of a nuisance, getting into the trash and peoples hot tubs.
I could not convince this guy that shooting all the lions was not a good idea. I mean, what about the bears, rattlesnakes, coyotes, prairie dogs that carry bubonic plague, rabid bats and raccoons, bees, hawks, etc.? All of those animals are dangerous, too. He just kept going on about pets and children, despite the fact there’s never been a fatal lion attack in Colorado in 25 years, and less than 2 dozen across the entire US over the last 100 years, and those folks who live alongside wild animals know not to let their kids and pets just wander around.
Anyway, I finally figured out he was just a troll, getting his kicks by trying to piss everyone off. You’d think these people would have something better to do with their time than annoy folks on social media. Weird way to live your life, imo.
