TBH I'm slightly disappointed with *just* the 4 place. The Guardian was my last hope of better recognition for PM. Anyway it seems it was the favorite of the author of the piece:
The three first places should be A Very English Scandal, Killing Eve and Bodyguard. We still doesn't know the order. All of them "hotter" and much more hyped than PM. The popular kids won again!

The only way I found to get the whole list was clicking on the comments. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/dec/03/the-50-best-tv-shows-of-2018#commentsAs someone commented I can't believe Killing Eve and The Bodiguard are over this. He also put A Very English Scandal, but that one, although I personally prefer PM, I can understand. The Bodyguard is just so pedestrian. Killing Eve is very entertaining but no way better than PM.

I can't believe he doesn't mention the cinematography or direction.

No ones is mentioning the technical part which it's insane! I imagine a lot of people who could actually notice that aspect of the series aren't even watching it!

The infamous The Bodyguard is number 3. I'm glad that most of the commenters think as me.

When Bodyguard was first on, I read the online comments after each episode. There were lots of ridiculous complaints about having women in such high-level important jobs - the head of the bomb squad, the chief of police, and other top government positions. The complainers said that it was so far-fetched and unbelievable that they couldn’t take the show seriously. I suspect that the number of women in those roles (and even as the villain) is a big reason for the show to end up on these year-end lists now.
