This guy is also an editor from The Guardian and I think he is expressing what I think about that awful accusation:
It would be indeed a big scandal and something worthy of investigation. Not just tweets with suggestions based in weak connections. Again that’s not different of what Breitbart and other conspiracy theory right wingers do! In other words the misinformation she is supposedly fighting against!
Also I checked and All President’s Men was released in 1976 even when the last Watergate trials were in 1977. I don’t know if there was a big fuss but at least it was released in a country with journalists that defended free speech, I guess! There’s nothing more sad that journalists asking for censure. What kind of journalist do that?
He’s not doing press for the Brexit movie, but he kindly agreed to talk to me about the strange business of transforming into someone else.
That was in June (I think), so maybe he wasn’t doing press at the time but will do it now. I actually hope he doesn’t. There’s no need for him to defend himself and explain that he’s an actor playing a part - which is what he’ll have to do if he’s interviewed.
The visit was in June but she interviewed him “last week” according to the article.
Agreed that it’s better not doing interviews. The Guardian maliciously misquoted him when they interviewed him for TFE. After he protested they retracted and edited the piece (and published a fragment of the transcript to grant his request) but by then there were a few copy and past pieces by other sites with the fake quotes. It’s clear some professional journalists prefer to create scandal or are fanatics and don’t bother to check facts or being honest when facts go against their ideology or “narrative”.
I’m sure the writer will do a much better work promoting it anyway.
Also he is about having a new baby so maybe he is concentrating in that!
EDITED: probably that woman is doing them a favor with the free publicity.
