I just finished watching this on Acorn, and then I saw that the movie theatre nearby is showing a movie with Jude Law also called The Nest. They have nothing to do with each other, so I have to wonder why someone didn’t do a little internet search before naming either one of these.
The Nest that I watched is 5 hour-long episodes. It’s about a wealthy couple with fertility problems who try to have a surrogate carry their baby. It’s set in Scotland so, to me, all the men sounded like Jamie from Outlander. Ha!
It was very interesting, and I like that the story is over and they’re not dragging it on. I also like that I was not able to predict what was going to happen, other than thinking, correctly, “I don’t trust him/her”.
My sister used to babysit a little girl whose mother was quite obviously pregnant at one point, but she never talked about it. My sister found out from the talkative three-year-old that her mommy was pregnant with her cousin. It turned out that the mother was acting as a surrogate for her sister’s baby. I found the whole situation quite amazing, and it all seemed to work out without the drama of the mini-series. After her mother had the baby, the little girl often talked about them visiting her new baby cousin.
