Wow! Being "Benedict Cumberbatch-level" of star is obviously a thing now!

Perhaps this has to do with what BC said about wanting to do more child-friendly movies. It would be a little different from his other films.

Perhaps this has to do with what BC said about wanting to do more child-friendly movies. It would be a little different from his other films. Did he say that? I missed that. And he has always had a bit of a habit of surreptitiously referencing potential projects. Like he joked about playing a pig once, which was obviously a reference to Andy Serkis' "Animal Farm" at the time (which I'd still like to see come to fruition). That will end up as reasonably child friendly and then there's still the Andy Serkis "Jungle Book", of course. Then there's "The Grinch" too, so not so short on child friendly really, but none of those are live action. The attraction of doing those, though, is that they take such little time, so it wouldn't surprise me if he does more. But I'm not sure that he would have made that child friendly comment if he was just talking about more of the same in that respect, when he's really not short of those. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if he's at least in the frame for a live action adult Christopher Robin or something o that ilk anyway. Aside from that article reference, though, I'd probably have guessed at Colin Firth otherwise. I presume they'll go for a fictional take on Christopher Robin, rather than some sort of version of the real one.

He said it in the Good Morning Britain interview. He was asked if having children would have an effect on the roles he takes. But I didn't interpret "child-friendly" as meaning "for children". I just thought he meant he'd like to make movies his children can see before they grow up - family movies, but not necessarily children's movies. I guess we'll see what he does!
