This,
It’s narratively speaking a conventional movie but you can see even in his TV work that Berger has a very cinematic style. It’s not just an accessible simplistic product like CODA, which it’s more classic old TV (a la Hallmark! Not HBO, of course!) than anything made for film. But award pundits doesn’t understand those differences and everything slightly conventional it’s immediately the enemy. At least for pretentious award pundits. There are also the ones who love movies like CODA!

Kudos to Berger & his crew!
My Irish crowd hasn’t won anything, 😕 but it’s nice to see a more diverse group presenting and winning this year (including Jenny the donkey from Banshees), although there’s already screaming about Angela Bassett being ROBBED. Twitter is also upset about some folks who weren’t even nominated being ROBBED, lol.
Jimmy Kimmel is doing great.

It seems it’s winning everything! I don’t know if I want it to win Best Film. I mean it’s very good. Much better than some past winners! But Berger doesn’t deserve the sure backlash!
The other day I read a tweet accusing it of glamorizing war and fascism! Lol TBF I saw the tweets making fun of the person saying it and who clearly didn’t knew nor understood the significance of actual source material.
