Does anyone watch this? I'm late to the party: just catching up on the first two series. I love it. Perfect escapist entertainment. Plus the scenery and costumes and main actors are all beautiful. Especially Ross Poldark himself (played by Aidan Turner). I have to confess I have been virtually unfaithful to BC with Mr Turner. Don't judge me too harshly - Ross Poldark is mighty purty and wears breeches, a black frock coat and has darker, shinier, wilder hair than Sherlock. What's a girl to do? Attachment Deleted

I watched the first series or part of it, I don't remember. I agree AT is very attractive but the series for me was boring.

Agreed that AT is quite beautiful, and if there's one thing I love, it's a man in stockings. 18th century fashion. Sigh. ๐
I found the series boring, too, and I could *never* be unfaithful to BC. I'm shocked, Ellie. Really. I'm telling. ๐

Ha! This is all very silly, of course, but I actually don't feel right about taking on a new show starring a handsome man. So although I'm perfectly fine binge-watching Midsomer Murders and Father Brown, I'd rather re-watch Sherlock than start on Poldark. (And I recently have started watching Sherlock again - it's quite good! I shouldn't be surprised, but it really does surprise me that I'm still so impressed by it after all these viewings. There's something truly magical about it.)

I kind of know how you feel Milemas but I guess I'm just promiscuous when it comes to my celebrity "boyfriends." ๐. I still rewatch my favourite Sherlock episodes too!
As for those of you who found Poldark boring, that's interesting. It's a huge hit in the UK but maybe that's more to do with AT than the storylines. That said, I don't find it boring but I do love a costume drama so maybe I'm its demographic!
Oh and QZ, AT is Irish so, if you tell on me, my defence will be that I was just being patriotic. ๐

I have never really had any interest in Poldark, but I do find Aidan Turner absolutely yummy. I've had a hard time getting interested in any new TV shows lately. I only watch and re-watch stuff I've liked for years. On the flip side of my dedication to TV shows, I cheat on BC all the time lol. I'm not one to maintain a very deep connection to any one celebrity for a long period of time, I'm very flaky flip-flopper. At the moment I'm obsessing over Bianca del Rio (one of the drag queens from Rupaul's Drag Race.) Which is pretty cool cause there's just soooooooo much material on YouTube, she's absolutely freaking hilarious and pretty and wonderful. I have tons and tons of actors I like and I do follow BC more than most of them (thanks to first IMDb and now this board!) but I'm definitely not a good Cumberbitch anymore.

IGS if you don't want to watch Poldark but like Aidan Turner then you might enjoy Being Human. It's the BBC series he starred in before Poldark. It's about a Vampire, a Werewolf and a Ghost sharing a house. Yes, sounds weird, but it's very good. A mix of comedy, drama and horror. The Vampire (AT) is trying to give up killing for blood, but the other Vampires don't want him to leave the fold, the Werewolf (Russel Tovey) is trying to live a normal life and the Ghost (Leanora Critchlow) is trying to find out what unresolved business is keeping her earthbound. Lots of fun and Mark Gattis turns up as a Vampire called Mr Snow at one point. Oh and AT looks utterly gorgeous in it. Attachment Deleted

Argh, I wrote a post but there was a glitch and it's gone. Anyways, I've watched Being Human and I loved it! Up until that cast switch-a-roo that is, it's always a risky approach. In Skins imho it worked (at least 2nd Gen still) but in Being Human I just couldn't get into the new characters at all. I had totally forgotten Mark Gatiss was ever in it though!

Mark Gattis turns up in the episodes with the new cast if I remember right. I still watched it off and on after AT and RT left but it was never as good as with the original trio. Glad you enjoyed it. I thought the way they interspersed comedy with the horror was excellent. One of my favourite bits was when Mitchell decides to do what humans do and Interact with the neighbours and meets the guy who can only talk about Vin Diesel.
