Oh. Ok. I know nothing about comic books. I thought he was talking about scripts. Thanks for the info. 👍🏼My pleasure, Ellie. :-))

I think he is fortunate enough to now be in a position artistically & financially to do whatever he likes. I get the impression he enjoys doing Dr Strange and he still has time to fit in more "serious" projects. Personally I think awards are a load of marketing driven nonsense which actually tend to have very little positive impact on winners future careers. However, if BC wants an Oscar then I'm sure he will have the time & oportunity to do a project in that sphere while still fitting in Dr Strange.

I think comic-book movies are "marketing driven nonsense", but I can understand why they're popular. And I know Benedict will continue to have a very successful career, with or without an Oscar. He probably doesn't care about awards, but I want him to have them!
Besides, I don't think Doctor Strange really shows off his acting range. He needs roles that ask more of him. If an actor like Paul Rudd can be a superhero, it can't be too demanding a job.

And somewhat differently to many other actors, I actually think that the projects announced are genuinely ones BC intends to do, too, rather than just being a fistful of possibilities. That doesn't mean something can't go wrong, of course, but I think all the officially announced are genuinely likely. And that includes "The War Magician" as well. There's also the strong possibility of both "Smiley's People" (which Gary Oldman said was filming next year now) and the newly written next installment that BC'c character leads. So lots of projects in development indeed, and they're only the ones we know about! Reasonable variety too, and that's not including the "unlike anything he's done before" new likely thing.
I don't think there's any doubt at all that there'll be a Strange 2 either. That might not be a role that'll win him any awards, but it most certainly has raised his profile so hugely that that will be helping to facilitate other projects, including ones that may actually win him awards.

It really doesn't need to be an either/or situation. He can do award contenders and Dr Strange.

And I really feel that thanks to DS he was able to really feel financially secure to launch SunnyMarch and allow it to go into a "feeding frenzy" of searching out interesting properties, like it has.
So if doing a DS superhero project now and again will increase the coffers at SunnyMarch which in turn becomes a conduit for projects more "near and dear" to his creative urges, then "All Hail DS!!" IMO.
I totally forgot about the War Magician and the "Smiley's People" one! Thanks "dreams" for reminding me of those!
Also, although it isn't acting BC did say in one interview that he would like to direct some day - that would be something he has never done before! I would love to see him try his hand a something like that.

He's said on several occassions that he wants a long career and he seems to be managing things in a way that will deliver that objective. So far I think he's done brilliantly. He's pretty much definitely achieved financial security through Dr Strange and lucrative advertising and marketing gigs. This frees him up to have major control over his future by being able to pick and choose from the roles he's offered and create his own projects too via Sunny March. That in turn gives him an entry into the business side of the industry. I think he's playing a pretty savvy game.

I'm not sure about him being a Director though Roverpup. Given his tendency to waffle at length I'm picturing some very confused looking actors as BC's Directions meader wildly in search of the point! 😀
I'm just joking by the way. I think he would probably be very good as he seems to have a great deal of empathy as well as attention detail.

I like Benjamin Bratt, and I hope they do more with his role in Doctor Strange. I was watching Miss Congeniality (again) the other day, and I always forget that he's in it!
