It was a really rainy, shut-in sort of day where I live, so we started watching the ITV/Netflix series Marcella.
It was so good that we gobbled up 7 of the 8 episodes all in one day! Tomorrow we will finish the finale.
Anyone else familiar with this programme?
I actually came across the title when I was glancing at Jamie Bamber’s wiki page just by chance. I adore Bamber (I started being a fan of his when I set eyes on him in his role of Archie in the Hornblower Series. He doesn’t have a big role in this one but still he is there and I enjoy his acting so much it is good to see him again.
The rest of the cast is stellar too! And I love the style of this show. Amazingly tension filled and the plot is very, very twisty!
I understand it has a second season coming up - can’t wait!

I didn't like it. I couldn't believe the guy from The Bridge had created this mess. Or maybe the problem is the many shows that try to copy The Killing (Forbrydelsen) and The Bridge (the original, Bron/Broen)that finally theyall look the same, with tortuous plots and conflicted detectives. I couldn't stop watching it, though, it was so ridiculous it was funny. The best thing about it were the The Guardian recaps. Hilarious as well as the comments. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/series/marcella-episode-by-episode

Well, thank you for your input. I’ll pass on reading the comments. But I will check out The Bridge next.

Well, thank you for your input. I’ll pass on reading the comments. But I will check out The Bridge next. :-)) I haven't watched Marcella, to be honest I hadn't even heard of it before now. But I'll definitely recommend The Bridge! (The DEN/SWE version.) It's a great series, the two leads (I've only seen the first 2 seasons) are very well-developed characters and the plots are great. Lots of drama and some heart-breaking stuff.

We just finished watching the first season of The Bridge and both of us enjoyed it very much. Very well done (although the subtitles were not always on target, but it didn’t present too much of a problem). Kim Bodnia and Sofia Helin are exceptional in their roles. They make a great pair!
Season 2 will be started by us tomorrow.
I understand that there is a 4th season being filmed to be shown in 2018.
Thanks for the recommendation Magda. I still like Marcella though, but The Bridge is excellent too.

I haven't seen the Bridge or Marcella, but I have been catching up on The Tunnel, which is the France/UK version. It's been very good, featuring the actor who plays Stannis Baratheon in Game of Thrones He's very good in this.(and also Uncle Benjen) It's a bit of a heavy watch, but I've found it worth it. Well acted, beautifully shot, and nice build up on mystery and tension.

I’ve decided to give that a try after we finish with The Bridge Hannah!
When you are retired there are a lot of viewing hours! Especially when the weather turns rainy.
