I was just watching a documentary about Leslie Howard and was struck by how much Tom Hiddlestone reminds me of him. He had a really interesting life did Leslie so perhaps it’s time TH made his bid for a “biog Oscar.”

I don't know why I read about Leslie Howard not long ago. Yes, his life was very interesting. I don't see Tom Hiddleston looking so alike to LH but it is not necessary to be to play him.
TH already did biopics: that of Hank Williams, I saw the Light.
I prefer his choices in movies than BC's, at least the "indies". He played very different roles.
Apparently one of the new songs of Taylor Swift is about TH. Haha

I completely agreed with ellie. He looks like Howard A LOT! I actually thought about it years ago! I think I was watching the movie he did with Humphrey Bogard. They were great friends in real life! Howard fought for him to play the part and the role made him a star so Bogard practically owned his stardom to him.

Yes. Humphrey Bogart was grateful to Leslie Howard for the rest of his life. He & Lauren Bacall even named their daughter Lesley Howard Bogart after him. I think that speaks very well of Bogart. Lots of people, when they get to the top, forget those who helped them on the way.
Howard had great integrity too, giving up his Hollywood career at the height of his success to return to Britain and do his bit for the war effort.
