There actually is a tie-in to BC in this one. This series was created by Steven Knight who is attached to BC’s upcoming project “Rio/Let It Fall Back” as the scriptwriter.
We have just finished watching the portion that was on Netflix (up to the end of Season 3) and now will move onto Season 4 on Kodi (which is still playing out - two more yet to be broadcast).
Really liking the series as a whole but it took time to develop (which isn’t something bad at all - just I didn’t fall in love with it instantly like some shows I have watched).
I do like the beautiful cinematography of the series - it reminds me of Sherlock with the care and attention to detail of the shots that have a real cinematic feel about them.
The acting is very good with leads and the supporting cast all doing equally strong performances across the board. Nice to see Tom Hardy (BC’s colleague from Stuart: A Life Backward days) in this as well acting up a storm!
And SK’s writing is very strong in my opinion. He certainly knows how to fashion a story and has a wonderful ear for both dialogue and the right timing for the characters to say nothing while the actors use their skills to convey the gist of a scene. He also seems to be able to write highly emotional scenes as well as thrilling action ones as well.
Can’t wait to see what he does with the script of Rio/Let It Fall Back!
Is anyone else watching this series? If you are and have seen the new episodes (in Season 4) please don’t post any open spoilers - I am quite enjoying the surprises of the twists and turns of the family Shelby.
