If you haven't seen Love, Actually, you must drop everything and watch it right now! It might not be to everyone's taste, but I loved every minute of it. Martin Freeman has an interesting role in it, but his storyline is often cut out of the movie when they show it on tv because it involves a lot of nudity. When I first watched Sherlock, I remember thinking "Hey, that's the naked guy from Love, Actually!" It got some terrible reviews when it came out - I remember one that said that it combined nine failed movie plots into one bad movie. But I went to see it anyway because Hugh Grant and Colin Firth were in it. I'm so glad I ignored the reviews! It's one of those rare movies that had me thinking that they made it especially for me - even down to the music they used. I still like to listen to the soundtrack when I'm doing stuff around the house. When I bought the DVD, I watched it with the director's commentary - the first time I'd ever done that - and it was just fascinating!

I love Love Actually too Mllemass.
It is one of my favourite Christmas time movies but I could (and have) watch it anytime of the year.
This short 10 minute special should be fun - to pick up on the characters and just show a glimpse of what happened in some of their lives would be a hoot. Of course they can't include all the characters because then it would be a lot longer than the planned 10 minutes. But even if they just do a couple it still would be worth it for fans of the film.
And it is for a good cause!

I'm meh on Love, Actually - seen it a few times (it's always airing on Christmas) and don't really know why it's as popular as it is (which is to say, super mega popular!) However, I do love when they do reunions on anything. Not actual reboots or super-delayed sequels, cause those more often than not suck, but little ones like this. Will be checking it out. Too bad there was no mention of Martin.

I think a lot of people feel the same way as you - they'll watch it because it's on at Christmas, but otherwise aren't very fond of it. Most of the time, I leave it off my list of favourite movies because I hate having to justify it to people who don't understand how I feel about it! I have a friend who has given me DVDs as presents over the years, and they've been terrible movies. I always ask if it's something she's seen and liked, and she answers "No, but I know you like this kind of movie". I know she means well, but I find it a bit offensive that she thinks I like bad romantic comedies - or any bad movies. I wouldn't even say I particularly liked romantic comedies. I just like any movie that's good.

I am incredibly fussy about which romantic comedies I watch. I haven't seen one in a while that I truly loved that I can remember. I love romantic movies (which often have funny scenes in them) but most of the rom-com movies that come out aren't the type I like.
I think maybe the last one that i really loved was Enough Said with James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in it. That was in 2013 so it has been a while.
