Now, I'm confused, who of the two The Guardian journalists are saying the true about this Blavatnik guy? Is the movie propaganda for or against Brexit? WTF? EDITED: news.sky.com/story/revealed-14m-backers-of-pro-eu-campaign-10276429This is from Sky but TBH I found the link on a right wing site making fun of her. That's what I was talking about! She is doing a good work but then writes all those bonkers tweets without any real proof agaisnt... a movie! She loses credibility just because she doesn't want people to watch a TV movie, she hasn't even watched! (He is polemic bacause he is accused of being a Trump donator. He denies it. He also had links to the Kremlin so...)

I just learned that HBO is airing it as “Brexit” rather than “Brexit: The Uncivil War” .

I wasn’t around at the time, but weren’t there lots of World War II movies made during the actual War? Was there a discussion about whether they should wait until it was all over before turning it into entertainment?

Was there a discussion about whether they should wait until it was all over before turning it into entertainment? I guess it could be argued that a lot of them were indeed propaganda but the most obvious example is All the President's Men because it's a political movie about an actual criminal case made during the trials. The difference is that there is actually not a legal case right now about Brexit. Someone mentioned The Social Network which wasn't exactly about politics but a very recent legal case, too. There are other movies about unfinished cases. For example, The Missing was made in 1982 but Charles Horman's case wasn't resolved until 2015! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Horman

You are talking about Carole Cadwalladr? I think she must have a book coming and she was expecting to sell it for a tv series/picture. But I'm cynic. That was my (cynical) guess, onebluestocking before Graham said it. Perhaps good Carole is just principled.
