Well we just got our typhoid and tetanus vaccinations yesterday so we are halfway done getting all our shots for the trip. Just need one more dose for our hepatitis shots and flu shots and boosters for our MMR vaccines.
The good news is that these shots will cover us for next year's trip as well so it is well worth it.
Now I have to really get serious about what to pack! 😊

So we are just finishing up our vaccinations next week (ones for cholera started today, the flu and the last of our Hepatitis shots will be done by Wednesday) so we will be good to go on the vaccination front finally!
I also booked an extended stay (10 hours) in the luxury lounge in Hong Kong international airport. We wanted to get out of the airport and visit our friend (who has lived in HK for over 14 years) but she is booked solid with freelance teaching jobs so that isn't possible and seeing that the political situation is so unstable I don't think it would be a good idea to leave the airport and travel into the city at this time.
So we opted to spend it in the lounge where they have showers, food, drinks and sleep chairs. We're getting into HK from Kathmandu at about 5:30 AM and aren't scheduled to leave until 3:30 PM so I thought we might as well spend those hours somewhere pleasant before we face the 14 hour flight back to Toronto.
Tomorrow I'm going shopping for a couple of new items for my travel wardrobe. I have a rough idea of what I want to pack but the devil is in the details so I have to get really serious now.😁

Well we have just one more dose of cholera vaccine to go (tomorrow) and then we are all done those preparations. Today I took some time practice packing. I packed 8 outfits (combos of selected clothing) plus undies etc. and 2 pairs of footwear and I am still under the allowed carry on luggage weight by 2 kg.! Dan's luggage is even lighter! He's coming in at about 7 kg.
Now I have to think of what else I could pack. Maybe I should do some more shopping? We still have overnight bag to fill up with toiletries and chargers etc. So we have tons of extra room built in still. I do want to do some shopping when I am over there so I am space open for that.

I bought a very compact foldable wireless keyboard for my phone which arrived today. I hope it will prove invaluable for typing up my travel journal entries. I charged up the battery in no time flat and connected the bluetooth in a couple of minutes.
Love the feel of it - light as a cork and yet with a high quality feel about it. It comes even with a touch pad. Folds up so compact that it fits into a regular sized pocket.
Can't wait to use it on our trip! Only cost about $40 CAD and it came in a couple of days. I tried posting a pic of it but the file was too big.
Now we don't have to take our iPad which is sooooo heavy in comparison!

I also kept having problems posting pictures that I took with my iPad because the files were too big. Then I learned that if I took a screenshot of the picture, the file was much smaller and I was able to post it. That might be the same situation with your phone.

Thanks for that tip!! It worked beautifully. Here's the screenshots of it. Really tiny folded up. But a very workable size when unfolded.

All packed for the trip! The two wheelies are both comfortably under the allowed 10 kg for carry on baggage and the small bag is is only a little over 2 kg ) when the limit for that is 5 kg). I've also stuffed into our baggage 2 light sacks that can be used to haul stuff back home (I figure we'll buy some mementos) on the return flight. Can't wait to be on our way! The weather is reportedly VERY lovely. Highs in the mid 20's and lows around 16. NO RAIN!!

It will be nice for you to be somewhere warm during our dreary November weather in Canada! After trees have lost their autumn leaves, we have nothing t o look at but bare branches until the snow arrives.
Have a great trip!
