The best aurora borealis I ever saw was actually in my hometown in southwestern Ontario. We were going to an art auction one night at a golf and curling rink and just before we went in right there in the parking lot we looked up and the whole sky was lit up in greens and yellow and all sorts of other colours arranged in magnificent sustain patterns. It was spectacular! A once in a lifetime experience.

Very cool! I've never seen it in real life, though friends of mine have seen it here in Massachusetts. It's funny, I was just thinking about looking up the aurora forecast tonight when I got home, but got distracted. Then I saw this post I did just check the forecast, and it looks like it's predicted to be pretty active this Wednesday, Mar 1st, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/NorthPolar/20170301If the weather stays clear, maybe I'll have a chance to see it here, North of Boston along the coast.

I've never seen proper Northern Lights - and I live in freaking Finland! So unfair. I did see some when I was in Lapland like 15 years ago, but it wasn't the kind of "woah" stuff they sometimes get up north. Last year we had pretty Aurora in Helsinki even but being in the city spoils it, should have gone outside the city to get away from the light pollution, if I had known. Maybe some day!

I have been watching a beautiful Aurora live in Norway for the last 2 hours. It has let up for now but could start up again. The forcast is for an excellent night for Auora watching. en.zooom.no/northern-lights/liveEDIT: I just checked and it has started again. If you run your curser along the red bar on the screen, you can go back 2 hours and see it earlier.

The Aurora is fantastic in Norway right now! They say it is so bright, that it can be seen as far south as Copenhagen.
