Awwww that doggy scene. It's a deleted scene though, right? I'm sure (like...68% at least) I would remember it if it had been in the film. It's cute but it's pretty mushy, I get why they removed it (too early in the film for Strange's character development.)

I get why they removed it (too early in the film for Strange's character development.) That's what SD said. I think it could have been left. I said it on other of the threads: he has passed through lots of things, he has lost his hands, his career, his money, he wasn't the same man as before and it was natural he'd like to help a dog with a broken leg. The scenes are all from the promo videos.

I was having a hard time ordering the DVD from Amazon because it kept saying it wasn't available for preorder. But then yesterday we got an advertisement for an electronics store, and they're advertising that they'll be selling it on the 28th. They also advertised Sherlock when it came out, but I had already ordered it from Amazon.
Not only will they be selling the DVD and the Blu-Ray, they also say they have "limited quantities" of the steel book. It's $10 more than the Blu-Ray, but you get both formats in it. I will be there to buy it Tuesday morning!
The other thing that caught my attention in the electronics store advertisement was that many of the ads for computers and TVs had scenes from Doctor Strange on the screens! Ha!

Ah, I had totally missed that. I agree with you that I don't think it would have been totally out of character, but I also (obviously haha since it's the thought I had) understand why SD thought it didn't quite fit. Especially since he was so prickly still in his first scenes with the Ancient One and her posse. I am really looking forward to seeing Doctor Strange again, I loved the film. But I've been trying to downshift, I recently bought Parade's End cause I got it for 2€ but other than that I haven't bought any DVDs/Blu-rays in over a year (hoping to move abroad somewhere in the not-too-distant a future so I am trying to not buy any earthly possessions.)

I went to the electronics store today to buy Doctor Strange. I paused just inside the doorway to look for the DVD department, but there was no need. The Doctor Strange display was right there in front of me! And they had posters all around the entrance - I was surrounded by Benedicts!
It's a good thing the store was noisy, because I think I might have squealed a bit. The display had banners across the top on each side, and a cardboard sign with scenes from the movie on each end. They had some other new DVD releases there, too, but the display was almost entirely Doctor Strange DVDs, Blu-rays and "Collectible" Steelbooks - which I bought. It has the DVD, the Blu-Ray, and the digital download.
Naturally, before I left the store I asked one of the salesmen what they did with the displays when they took them down. He said the employees take them home because most of them are collectors.
I keep trying anyway!
