That explained why he wasn't there! Ben Whishaw is doing the play BC recently went to watch in NYC. Luckily BC was there to receive his award. I just remembered he wasn't there when he won his Oliver nor when he won the Emmy!

I enjoyed TVES and I am very glad Ben Wishaw won Bafta - IMO he was far better than Hugh Grant in it and really deserved the award. I am not sure his was only supporting part, but this way he wasn't pitched against B. in the lead. It seems to me "The Guardian" was the only one to mumble against B. winning over HG, but then, the focus of the media seems to be on the female awards.

I didn't see AVES, but I question this critic's definition of innovative based on this comment:
Bandersnatch was fun, but not that great IMO. The choose your own adventure thing was more of a gimmick, and aside from that gimmick it was weaker than many other episodes of Black Mirror. And I've seen other shows do the choose your own... format, my son watches the Bear Grylls one where you choose what he does on his wilderness exploring.

I really liked AVES. It was fun and shocking when you consider that it was a true story! Everyone in it seemed to be having a marvellous time. I did have a problem with the final episode feeling so rushed. And although I’ve always liked Hugh Grant, Benedict was much better.
