I'm putting this here because I'm so glad there isn't one for Dr.Strange.

I wonder if they are contractually obligated to do it or if they negotiated new streaming contracts. I guess it's the last and don't think Disney is so evil, right? Anyway there is a lot of talent involved not just in the Marvel series but also in other new exclusive productions. I saw there's a film with William Dafoe and dogs, for example!

I'm sure they renegocited it. I think TH was missing just one movie, no way he is going to do a series instead.
I went to look at his Imdb page and it is already there.

I remember that in the early days, the talk was that Renner (who was very hot after his wonderful performance in The Hunt Locker) was hired to do those small parts in the early Avengers movies with the promise of having his own film for his character.
Well, he finally is the leading man!

But after how many years?
Anyway, he was lucky, he must be one of the few of the MCU actors who's played in high profile movies not Marvel.

Yes, he has his secured Marvel role AND a more than decent career outside it, doing mostly indie respected films. He isn't defined by his superheroe role. That's great!
Robert Downey Jr. is the mega star and always was a very talented actor but he hasn't made anything really interesting since he took the role of Iron Man.

I don’t mind if Benedict wants to be Doctor Strange every so often, but I don’t want him making a career of it. He needs to focus on winning an Oscar!

I think that's his objective. He just had his biggest artistic achievement with Patrick Melrose, IMHO, and it was post-Doctor Strange. Also it is nice to see that people outside our bubble agreed. Here is movie critic Dana Stevens:

Scarlet Witch is getting a TV show too. It seems the less popular characters who never got standalone Marvel films are getting the shows instead. Loki was very popular, but was also a villain so I guess that's why they didn't do a movie for him. Although DC does movies starring the villains, but I guess it's because their franchise is 'darker' (Suicide Squad was very successful, upcoming Birds of Prey with female villains, and Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix which I think looks very good.)
