I found the episode about Margaret discovering the cousins the worst so far. For starters she did not discover them and, more importantly, given her self centered personality I don’t believe for one second that she would have given a toss about them.
I’m finding the Charles and Diana story to be quite well done. Neither of them come out of it well and I think that is probably fair. I believe the Royal Family and Charles in particular have a lot to answer for in their treatment of Diana. She was far too young to have been rushed into that arranged marriage. But that said, she was quite a difficult and manipulative person herself so she is not entirely blameless for the train wreck the whole situation became.

Just watched another episode of The Crown. Titled "48:1", it focused on the issue of sanctions against South Africa because of their policies of apartheid and the ensuing battle of wills between "10 Downing St. and Buckingham Palace".
The best episode yet IMO! It was actually exciting feeling the building dramatic tension between the two women! Even though I knew what happened I still found myself catching my breath watching all the back and forths.
Bravo to Gillian Anderson and Olivia Coleman and to the writer Peter Morgan and director Julian Jarrold!

For those interested in The Crown, I found a Q&A event with Gillian Anderson and the actors who play Diana and Charles. It's from Variety and after the experience with The Mauritanian I think it is going to be possible to participate. ev10.perigonlive.com/1-evt329d5139bca3490ea7d580844814ed49

I don’t watch The Crown, but I watched Gillian Anderson being interviewed about it by Seth Meyers this week. I was interested in hearing what kind of accent she had. For all the years I watched her on the X-Files, I figured she was American. But then I saw her interviewed on British talk shows years later, speaking with an English accent. So that’s what she does - for American interviews (like Seth Meyers), she uses an American accent. But for British interviews, she sounds English. I’ve never seen anyone else do that!

I’m completely confused as to her nationality, lol. Apparently she was born in Chicago, but moved to England a number of years ago? 🤷🏻♀️
The only other actor I’ve seen do that is John Barrowman. He slides back and forth between English & Scottish, the Scottish accent especially when he’s talking about his parents.

According to her wikipedia page she was born in the US but moved to London with her parents and lived there till she was 11.
So it is natural that she speaks English like a British person.
Also, she had problems adapting to the US and was mocked because of her accent. So she switched the accent.
I think it said that she's living in London since 2002.

Well she does both accents flawlessly! Her accent as Margaret Thatcher was so good and her character so annoying I want to smack her, lol. Thatcher really was a horrible person - like many politicians we have around these days.
