I noticed that at least one “Best of decade” list of tv shows included Detectorists, so I decided to watch it. I had seen a few episodes on tv months ago, but they stopped putting them on so I never finished it. Acorn TV has all the episodes.
My initial reaction when I first started watching it was that it was the slowest show I’d ever seen, but it was also strangely addictive. It’s quirky and weird, but also intelligent and very funny and very sweet. I will be recommending it to my friends!
